Lovable Friday

First off, I’d just like to say that I am so happy with the turnout for both giveaways I’ve hosted the past two weeks. I am especially blown away at the response for yesterday’s Lulu’s contest! I hope to be able to continue to provide more unique and fun giveaways for all of you in the future. I am very proud of where this blog is heading and am not planning on slowing down one bit! So thank you to all my loyal readers, as well as new ones. It makes me infinitely happy to know that I can make others smile with something I have created. :)

1. LOST finale
1. LOST finale

I cannot believe it’s time. I truly think this is the end of an era. LOST changed television. They made it OK for television shows to make its viewers think. TV no longer has to be mindless entertainment. LOST was a very big part of my life from beginning to end and I am terribly sad to see it go. I have grown attached to all the characters as if I personally knew each and every one of them. But at the same time, I am so excited to see the conclusion. How is this all going to end? I have utter and complete faith that Damon and Carlton are going to serve us up a mind-blowing 2.5 hour finale on Sunday night, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to cry. A lot. So keep those tissues handy, fellow LOSTies!
ps; Isn’t Libby one of the greatest underrated characters? I love her.

1. Anthropologie's Bustled Shower Curtain

Now that we are almost ready to move into our new home (squee!), I’ve been shopping for a lot more home accessories than usual. Unfortunately, I stumbled upon this gorgeous ruffled shower curtain from Anthropologie. I say unfortunately because this pretty little lady is $118! Of course, after seeing it, I became obsessed with having a ruffled shower curtain in our master bathroom and thankfully after some Internet scouring, I found a more affordable ruffle action from Target. But I’ll most probably still find myself lusting after this one from time to time. Oh, how you pain me so, Anthropologie!

I’d like to start off Lovable Friday today with the winner of The Bird & The Bee contest I held last week! The lucky winner of a copy of their new album, Interpreting the Masters, Volume 1 is Karen Lisa! Congratulations! Remember to send me your mailing address as soon as you can so the CD can be sent your way!

1. New True Blood Poster

I couldn’t love this more. For those not in the know, VILF stands for Vampire I‘d Like to F___ – I’ll let you fill in the nasty little letters yourselves! As if June 13th didn’t feel long enough, yet another teaser was released earlier this week featuring everyone’s favorite bar-owning shape shifter, Sam Merlotte. I hate how they are purposely featuring scenes that cannot be placed if you read the novels. Does anyone have any theories? Also, I totally need this as a shirt for this year’s Comic Con!

Home Wish List

Not only have I been compiling a huge “to do” list for our new home, but I also have been compiling another “want, covet, need” list as well. I thought I’d share a few of those items on the list with all of you! But be warned, they may end up on your own list!

Home Inspiration: Neutral Work Space

First off, I’d like to announce the winner of the Where the Wild Things Are giveaway:
Congratulations ROSIE!
Please email me your mailing address ASAP so the package can be on your way!

So it’s pretty evident that the hubs and I have pretty clear plans of what we have in mind with each room in our new home and our office is no different. This will mainly be the hubs’ haven so he got artistic control, but I absolutely loved his ideas and what he wanted to do with the space. Being a designer, he was looking for a neutral work space to not clutter his environment so that it wouldn’t hamper his creativity. I just ordered this amazing white wash floor from Lumber Liquidators to keep with the clean, sleek look of the room:

2hp_rsIt was also a steal at 0.59/sq.ft. – couldn’t beat that deal!

These are also some great inspiration pictures that have tickled our pickles:

Weekend Highlights

friday14297193.0

I am not a homebody. I love to be out doing cool stuff with cool people. I, however, do not like spending vast amounts of money when doing so. This is why I was super happy when I found out that there was going to be a tweet up at Miami Beach’s 8 oz. Burger Bar with an open bar, free appetizers and a Rock Band competition. How fun is that? I can vouch it was tons. The place was slammed, but the bartenders were really great about handing out the free drinks and the appetizers were being passed around like hot cakes. Plus, it helps that I was with great company. I hope they do more of these – totally loved the idea and the freebies! We finished the night at a friends’ house where we caught up with each other, drank and had a delicious dinner. Perfect start to the weekend!
