Bloody Family Giveaway

I promised you all a super kawaii giveaway last week, and here it is!

I love it when amazing and fun artistry comes from my hometown, so I am proud to say that these little beauties are from Miami-based artist Piktorama’s new brand, Bloody Family. Aren’t they the cutest??? I personally love that this line was inspired by her love for everyone who is different. I can definitely share the sentiment! Up for grabs are both Mr. Tofu wood engraved earrings and matching pendant. All you have to do is enter below & wait impatiently until Tuesday, Jan. 15th when I will announce the winner!

Pink Ghost Artist Necklaces + a Giveaway!!!!

As usual, the purveyor of everything super kawaii, Pink Ghost, is at it again! They have a new series of artist necklaces that will absolutely steal your heart. Each pendant is made of 100% maple and features a character from each artist’s universe: Afro Kelvin from Piktorama, Rainbow Bear from Crowded Teeth, and my personal favorite: Chubby Unicorn from Pow Pao (his diet mainly consists of macarons).

As if they weren’t cute enough, they are also limited edition (only 50 of each!) so make sure you get your hands on one as quickly as possible – I think they’d make great holiday gifts!

However, if you are more of a gambler, you’re in luck! I will be giving away TWO artist series Chubby Books from both Piktorama and Crowded Teeth to one lucky reader! All you have to do is follow Melificent on Facebook & Pink Ghost on Twitter! Easy, right? Make sure you sign up below as the contest will close on Sunday, December 16th at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be announced that Monday in a blog post! So what are you waiting for? ENTER!

1. Marc Jacobs Boston Terrier iPhone Case

I definitely had a physical reaction when I saw this BEYOND adorable iPhone case by Marc Jacobs. Usually if a dog is featured on accessories, it’s a Frenchie, so I was so happy to see that Marc Jacobs decided to use our favorite little furries instead! Although the case is a steep $50, I still find myself wanting to move it into my shopping cart. I’m easily swayed.

Nanodots Taste Bad

For those of you that don’t know what Nanodots are, they are super fun magnetic dots that you can play with as just stress relief or use to create some pretty neat stuff. I got to know a lot about them when I visited their booth at Comic Con’s Wired Cafe, and they are a really great product. Unfortunately, looks like their safety has recently been scrutinized due to some questionable activity by competitors. Namely, these competitors decided to sell their version of this product in baby/nursery stores. I honestly have no idea why anyone would think that would be a good idea, considering they are very small balls that could easily be ingested by a baby or small child, but I digress.

Needless to say, Nanodots weren’t too happy about this, and to ensure that their product would be safe, even if someone made the poor judgement to share them with their infant or small child, they added a protective coating to the product making it taste very…undesirable. And that’s an understatement. I figured just writing it wouldn’t really have an impact, so I brought a case of the dots to a recent party and had my friends taste test them, after all, who is more honest than your best friends? I’m pretty sure I’ll never be invited anywhere again.

I think that proves their point (boy, were those expletives difficult to edit out). No one would want those anywhere near their mouth (even our hands had the residue for quite some time after), so A+ to you all over at Nanodots!

1. Stitch iPhone Case

I had a thing for Stitch for a very long time (OK, I still do). My 21st family birthday cake had his face on it (my friends got me one with Elijah Wood’s face on it – ha), and I basically had every single piece of Stitch-related paraphernalia available. People even state that my dogs are very Stitch-like (they are), so naturally I NEED THIS CASE. Did I make myself clear?

Street Style {Comic Con 2012}

As promised, both myself and the hubs were able to snap a few pictures of Comic Con attendees that were rocking some sweet outfits. Although we weren’t able to get as many as we wanted for you guys because I got ill and things were just very hectic, here are a few great ones!

Two Babes instead of one hottie

Although there is no hump day hottie today (sniff), I wanted to share some other lovables. Mainly, that you should all check out & follow my side project with the lovely Rosy of Accidental Sexiness, The Blogalicious Babes. We will be recording our first vlog this weekend (squee) & have this fun teaser trailer out for your viewing pleasure:

Even better is that we just got word that we will be covering this year’s San Diego Comic Con as press! I’m so excited to do some interviews with my favorite cast members and especially to bring a fun daily vlog to you all straight from the source! I’m also going to be taking pictures of great street style throughout the event and sharing them with all of you right here on Melificent! And don’t worry, there will still be a lot of content while I’m gone – the fabulous Aurora will be guest blogging for the entire week!

With that said, I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day {Role Reversal}: Anna Torv

The hubs and I have been Fringe addicts since day one. But I do clearly remember our friends complaining at first that they didn’t dig the main character, Olivia Dunham. They would say that her acting was weak and they didn’t like her cadence. I also clearly remember correcting all of them as quickly as possible: she’s Australian! I guess I instantly had a girl crush on Ms. Torv. I attribute it to her strong, bad ass persona. This only escalated when I had a run in with her at Comic Con. Please ask me where. Only the worst place for a celebrity run in: the women’s bathroom. These things only happen to me.
