I figured this should be a thing, right?
I get excited about a lot being a fangirl, so this new feature naturally popped up as an option. Similar to things I need, this will be a list of things I’m looking forward to within my fandoms. Hopefully there will be some overlap with all of yours as well.

It’s JJ, it’s Star Wars. What else could be better? Seems like it will be at select theaters only this Friday. I will just sit back and allow the Internets to give it to me the lazy way though. What are your expectations? I’m personally a huge Abrams fan and bow down to all his work, so I have extremely high expectations and know he will deliver.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise since I read the books as a teen, so naturally I was excited when I found out there was going to be a new film (to hopefully make up for the last especially shitty ones). I got a little more excited when the cast seemed legit: Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard? OK. I’m listening. We finally got the trailer this week and I, for one, am not disappointed. This ish looks great.

I was lucky enough to see Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie DJ as Wooden Wisdom during San Diego Comic Con and thought that would be the first and last time. You can only imagine how excited I got when I found out they were traveling with their jazz funk tunes to Miami! Needless to say, I have my tickets and plan on rocking out at Bardot. Guys. It’s actually happening. If you are part of the Sherlock fandom, you know that we are suspicious non-believers thanks to Moffat and Gatiss. They like to play with our hearts and it’s just not fair. But this week we got this sneak peek. A read through? The special is actually happening? IT IS PEOPLE. IT IS. Sound the fangirl alarms.

So if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I took on not one, but TWO themed parties in the span of a week. Some may call it crazy, I call it a challenge. First off was our Great Gatsby New Years Eve bash. I had a lot of fun decorating our place with glitter, sequins and fringe, but lets be honest. What gets me most excited are the themed mani’s that come along with events!

I didn’t have a whole lot of time, so I had to look over great tutorials, such as this one, before settling on the one you see above (reference). I have to say that it was a super easy manicure to achieve and it looked fantastic! I was complimented on it for days afterwards and it held up nicely.

One heaping coat of Sally Hansen‘s Big Matte Top Coat only over the black portion

Only a few days later, we hosted a viewing party for the new series of BBC’s Sherlock, which I can honestly say is my new favorite show. I have an unhealthy addiction to it and just can’t get enough. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt the fangirl burn inside of me so bright! Of course, I would have these feelings for a show that only airs 3 episodes every 2 years. I hate you, Moffat. But all that aside: FINGERNAILS (reference).

Sherlock Nails
One coat of Sinful Colors‘ Snow Me White (or any white polish) over all fingers except your accent
Three coats of Essie‘s Bouncer It’s Me on all nails
Create the Union Jack on your accent nail using a toothpick (it works even better than my dotting tools!)
For the red, I used Essie‘s Aperitif

Also, remember to exercise patience while trying to pull off these manicures. I often do not succeed, but I’m trying my best to learn to sit still! Doing nail art while watching a movie or TV show tends to help keep me occupied.

Drew Barrymore is such a girls girl, isn’t she? I remember she was the first actress I saw and wanted to be like. She was the perfect mix of glamorous and wild: so spontaneous and carefree. I personally think she was at her best in Mad Love (am I dating myself?) and I could watch Never Been Kissed all day every day. But what I love about her the most is her spirit – I wish I could bottle it or somehow channel it. She is also growing an empire: forget just Flower Films – she also has her own wine (Pinot Grigio no less) and just launched a beauty line, Flower Beauty, which I’ve only heard good things about.

Although Josh is a youngin’, I know all my fellow Hunger Games fans are beyond excited for the next installment, Catching Fire. From set spying via Google Maps to Capitol portraits, the fandom is buzzing so just seeing photos of Mr. Peeta Mellark (whether in or out of character) can make us start counting the days until the premiere. By the way, we are at 246 days. Just sayin’.

I hate to be so cliche, but I love me some Jennifer Lawrence. Sure, so does the rest of the world, but I’m pretty sure she’s my best friend in hiding. I mean, the world may implode if we meet so it’s best if we keep things this way, right? Obviously. But in all seriousness, this chick is amazing. Not only can she act like a boss, but she is charming, hysterical and geeky all at once. All it takes is a quick search for “Jennifer Lawrence gifs” to instantly fall in love. That love naturally amplified to an all-time high when she took a tumble at the Oscars, gave the finger to a photographer who mocked her for it and completely lost her shit when Jack Nicholson recognized her.

She is the epitome of imperfection and that’s kind of what makes her perfect.

You guys. I saw Magic Mike a couple of weeks ago and I have to admit: I wasn’t all that floored with Channing Tatum. I could honestly do without him. Who really caught my attention? Alex Pettyfer. I had always heard his name thrown around, but I really didn’t know what he looked like. I guess I imagined a little blonde teeny bopper. Not this. And then I found out he was British. Well, that’s entirely not fair. Good job on this one, higher ups. I approve.

For the record, darker hair definitely suits him better.

File this one under fashion icon. Although I don’t know a whole lot about Blake Lively (except that she was stupid enough to leave naked pictures on her cell phone), what I do know is that she can dress like a mofo. I don’t think she has had one faux pas in my book, and that’s saying a lot (I can be a little critical). I mean, honestly what wouldn’t look good on this girl? She is a tall, leggy blonde with a phenomenal body. Total envy!

So I haven’t heard much about this guy, except that he is going to be in this movie about a bunch of really hot male strippers. I think it’s called Magic Mike? Yeah, call me crazy but I don’t think that flick is going to do very well. At all. Am I right?

ps; Before everyone attempts to pierce my head with a stake, all that was sarcasm. Although I don’t plan on spending cold hard cash on it at the theater, I look forward to a future girls night when it’s on Netflix. Forecast: lots of squeeing.

So. I saw The Avengers this past weekend (I know, last person on Earth), and I absolutely loved it (along with the rest of the world). Aside from ridiculously fun action scenes, the movie was a total eye candy dream, was it not? Something I was not expecting though was Jeremy Renner. I know it’s a terrible thing to say, it really is, but his face is not so much. HOWEVER, his body is ridiculous. AM I RIGHT, ladies?? I mean, I was totally feeling it. Especially in his male Katniss outfit (I know, Hawkeye and all that. I like my name for him better). Melificent approves.
