DarkUFO just posted scans from the last issue of LOST magazine and they are both adorable and heartwrenching, at least for me, as a huge fan. The last episode pretty much wrecked me inside and out, especially when it came to the church scenes. I still can’t believe my favorite show is over. Sometimes I just really miss seeing their faces, it’s kind of pathetic, huh? But true. Nothing but love for my LOSTies!

That’s right, the movie all you geeky geeks have been dying to see is finally right around the corner! Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World will be out in theaters tomorrow and I don’t know about you, but my tickets have been purchased and printed since early this week! Luckily for me, Filter Magazine decided to shoot me over a copy of the soundtrack to hold me over until the premiere.
And it is good.
As you all know, I’ll be attending Epicenter Fest in Ontario, CA next month to see my beloved 90’s band, Bush, reunite for their first concert together since 2002. I’m really thrilled because I know I’m going to have a great time, but need to get that perfect outdoor festival outfit lined up. I’m all about comfort when it comes to concerts, but that doesn’t mean you have to look any less stylish and cute. While engaging in my favorite Internet hobby: online shopping, I decided to put together a summer concert series of my own consisting of outfits that are not only comfortable and climate controlled, but also stylish and affordable. Wednesday marked a very important day in the state of California that will hopefully have a ripple effect on the rest of the country. A federal judge ruled that Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage, was unconstitutional and it was overturned. Being a fan of equal rights (um, who wouldn’t be?) and a firm supporter of gay rights, I could not be happier. In fact, I can’t believe that any sort of discrimination over whom you decide to love is still an issue in 2010 (or was ever an issue really). Congratulations, California!
Everyone has something that they are completely and totally passionate about, right? Whether it is a hobby, a sports team or a band, everyone loves something. Well, I love The Smashing Pumpkins. Sure, I like a lot of people and things, but nothing more than the Pumpkins. Since my freshman year of high school, I have been enamored with this band. What is it? At this point, I couldn’t even specify certain reasons, they are just a part of me. I have very strong emotional ties to their music and where it takes me and how it makes me feel. Just the opening riff to a certain song can make me grin from ear to ear, become extremely introspective or a complete and total basket case. All their songs tie together to represent my formative years, to form…me.
And if musical soulmates were to exist, well Billy Corgan, you’d be mine. I still believe that no one can hold a candle to him as a lyricist. And despite his less than stable emotions at times, I believe deep down he is a really beautiful person with an open mind and a big heart. I have seen the Pumpkins 5 times now and each time is better than the last. I am lucky enough to have gotten tickets to their sold out show at Revolution Live, a really small venue for the group, and that show is now a week away.
It may seem like just another show I will add to my arsenal, but words cannot really express how excited I am to see them again. To see them as fired up as the reviews have been reporting. I saw this video from their performance of Hummer at the Viper Room and got really emotional. That is the Pumpkins I remember and grew up with. And I will be experiencing it first hand in a week.

My hubs introduced me to the greatness that is A Bryan Photo. They are lifestyle and wedding photographers that shoot soley in film for photos and super-8 for video. And they are glorious. Today there is only one Lovable Friday item and that is because something absolutely magical happened yesterday afternoon. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you are in the know, but for the remaining 2 people who do not, here’s the deal:
Bush is getting back together. Remember I posted about it here? Well, Epicenter Fest, the music festival hosting their first performance together since 2002, has been randomly giving away passes to the show (regular and VIP) through their own Twitter and Facebook accounts. I’ve obviously been entering, hoping to win so I can actually afford to go.
And yesterday afternoon…I won.
I flipping won.
I’m going to see Bush LIVE (in SoCal no less). I am in complete and utter shock. And since it was a pair of tickets, I invited one of my closest friends and Bush partner in crime since 1999, Bonnie. We are absolutely thrilled for the trip – I’ve always wanted to travel to see a band with girlfriends and here I am! I say girlfriends because not only am I going to share this experience with Bonnie, but also with about 19 other hardcore Bush/Gavin Rossdale fans that I have become friends with over the past year on Twitter and Facebook. We refer to ourselves as GRoupies (cute, right?) and are making the trek from all over the U.S. for this show.
All in all, it’s going to be one hell of good time.
Can life get any better? I don’t think so.

At 5pm PST, KROQ made the huge announcement that the 90’s alt-grunge phenomenon, Bush, were officially reuniting!!!!! As you all know, I’m a huge Bush fan and have been for the past 15 years (and, I just aged myself) so this is some pretty momentous news. Mr. Rossdale was at the radio station in person and on hand to deliver Bush’s first single in 9 years, AfterLife, from their upcoming album, Everything Always Now (lovin’ the name), which is expected to drop sometime in October of this year. As if that news wasn’t enough to make a hardcore fan weak at the knees, it was also announced that the band would be playing their first show as a powerhouse foursome again at the Epicenter Festival, taking place September 25th and 26th in Ontario, California, along with Blink 182, Kiss, Eminem and 30 Seconds to Mars, just to name a few. However, Gavin did not make any mention of the line up or whether it would include the original members: Dave, Robin and Nigel.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make the CA date, but really hope this is the first of many shows because there is no way I cannot be a part of this. Plus, it’s been exactly 10 years since my last Bush show and that is just unacceptable!

It’s finally here! The wait is over, Truebies – HBO’s hit show (& seemingly everyone’s obsession), True Blood, will begin its highly anticipated 3rd season on Sunday night at 9pm. HBO has teased us for months now with these mini posters (pictured above is the last of the series), character minisodes and plenty of shorts to wet our appetite. I’ve read up until book 5 in the Sookie Stackhouse series, which is what the series is based off of, and if they follow book 3’s storyline (but will probably deviate from), we are going to have a lot to look forward to! What am I most excited for? The introduction of Alcide, the hottie werewolf! Rawr.
I’ll be holding a little viewing party at my place complete with a themed potluck, fangbanger cocktails and fangs galore! VILFS welcome
I’m back everyone!!! I’ve felt pretty detached from all things Internet since we started the move last weekend, but I’m happy to report that I am back in the saddle! We are completely head over heels over our new home, but it is a lot of work! I’ll make sure to post pictures next week of the progress we have made and will be sharing a lot of our ideas for the future. Also, make sure to keep your eyes peeled next week for another amazing fashion giveaway you are going to love! June is going to be a very busy month for Melificent – I can’t wait to share it all with you guys!
I honestly cannot control my insane happiness over the news that my favorite band in the world, The Smashing Pumpkins, will be playing an extremely intimate series of shows during the month of July. As if that wasn’t cool enough, one of their few stops is in Fort Lauderdale, specifically, at Revolution Live (one of my favorite venues)! Are you kidding me???? I’m pretty sure I just fangirled myself. Mr. Corgan is also hinting that special VIP access may be granted to some special fans including a private soundcheck! Unfortunately, the band has not released ticket prices or onsale dates, which has me extremely anxious. Must.have.tickets.now.
