What I Wore: Neon in the City

One of my favorite places in LA is the LACMA. I have to visit every time I’m in town and I’m never disappointed with their temporary exhibits. This time we were fortunate enough to enjoy one on Stanley Kubrick and all his legendary films. Can you believe I’ve only seen one (The Shining)??? I have to say, after completely enjoying the entire experience, I totally find myself wanting to immerse myself in his work. Movie marathon!!!

Something else I really enjoy? Sheer shirts with bling! I have no idea what draws me to own so many sheer blouses, but I hope the trend never goes away. It must be my tropical blood – wanting to be covered, but still airy enough to not suffocate in the Miami heat. Unfortunately for me, that was not the case while I was in LA – it was freezing! Shortly after I took these photos, I had to borrow the hubs’ cardigan to shield me from the elements. Before you judge, remember, I’m tropical, OK?

Sophie Theallet for The Limited

I was super happy to be able to join The Limited last night with their launch of Sophie Theallet’s new collection in stores. Ms. Theallet is bringing her elegance and luxuriousness to the brand by offering the dress you will want to be rocking this holiday season in 4 colors: black, orange, ivory (pictured below) and fuchsia. Although I arrived too late to the event to meet and pose with the designer herself, I didn’t hesitate to try on the lovely frock (while wearing the wrong underwear, of course). But the collection doesn’t stop there! It also includes fantastic accessories, such as this belt (that almost came home with me), as well as some more Winter basics like this cardigan.

What I Wore: LA Living

I’m back from vacation, and I come bearing gifts! Namely, an outfit post! It feels like centuries since I did one, but I’m glad I was able to squeeze a few minutes out of our hectic visit to LA in order to shoot one. We were there for a friend’s wedding and had entirely too much fun. The weather was spectacular as well, allowing me to pull out all those new winter items I never get to rock back home. Leather jackets, boots, scarves and this immensely comfy sweater tunic. And yes, I’m bringing back jeggings (did they go away?) because they are possibly the best article of clothing when you are jet lagged, tired and hung over – not that I was any of those things when these photos were taken. I promise. ;)

Pardon me, Ban.do.

So the always festive Ban.do has released it’s new holiday collection and I am head over heels for basically every single piece. I die. I mean, how can you go wrong with their tagline for the collection: Pardon me, I’m sparkly. Funny thing is, I’m pretty sure I could make this statement all throughout the year, not just during the holidays. This time of year just gives me an extra excuse (as if I needed one) to bring out the bling in a big way.

Here are some of my favorites, but make sure to check out the full collection here;

{Adventures in Pinteresting:} Black & Brown

Say hello to yet another new feature!

I think it’s pretty common knowledge that I absolutely adore Pinterest and use it as a resource for all things. ALL THINGS. So in order to showcase everything Pinterest inspires me to do, I decided to start posting my very own adventures in Pinteresting (see what I did there?). This time I decided to tackle the black jumpsuit with brown accessories that’s been floating around my stream, but with a few little Melificent tweaks.

For one, I decided to dump the plain old brown belt for a leopard one. I mean, nothing really beats animal print accessories when you want to make an impact, am I right? I also chose to go with a more rock ‘n roll vibe with my necklace choice and ditched the classic gold monogram to go with trendy spikes and hardware. Overall, just a more edgy version of the Pinterest inspiration.

My goal for these features is to help all of you realize that you don’t have to be carbon copies of everything you see on Pinterest, but just use them as inspiration to make them your own. And don’t expect just to see fashion picks, but also DIY, home, etc! Super excited to share them all with you!

What I Wore: Jewel Tones & Glitter Collars

Oh color. Oh silliness. Why do I love you so? Not really quite sure, but any excuse to bring both those out is one I will surely take and run with. This past weekend was my hubby’s birthday and we put together the infamous Pinterest balloon wall. It came out great, but unfortunately, we were all too busy socializing, drinking wine and enjoying ourselves to remember to snap pictures of people in front of it. What a fail! Oh well, at least I was able to take advantage of it for my outfit post! And I think it may be one of my favorites to date.

Neon Blouse: 3 Ways!

You all expressed that you enjoyed a good remix post, so here is another shot at one for you all! As you all know, I absolutely love my hot pink blouse that I picked up at H&M while on vacation in Los Angeles this past summer, and I do not mask the fact that I wear it often. And just because you wear something often does not mean that you will be sporting the same look over and over again. While looking through past outfit posts, I noticed that each time I wore the blouse, I went for a completely different vibe. Even if you are sporting a repeat offender, chances are no one will notice if you style it differently. And that’s what remixing is all about!

So which look is your favorite?

Lovable Friday!

1. Marc Jacobs Boston Terrier iPhone Case

I definitely had a physical reaction when I saw this BEYOND adorable iPhone case by Marc Jacobs. Usually if a dog is featured on accessories, it’s a Frenchie, so I was so happy to see that Marc Jacobs decided to use our favorite little furries instead! Although the case is a steep $50, I still find myself wanting to move it into my shopping cart. I’m easily swayed.

What I Wore: Girls Nite

Remember craft nite? I also wore a pretty cute outfit to that. Here’s the official outfit post for all of you!

Funny story about this jumpsuit! My mother-in-law (who is extremely fashionable) originally purchased it and didn’t like the way it looked on her (what a cray cray), so she gave it to me. I, in turn, am completely obsessed with it and I’m sorry if you see me in it like…every weekend. Isn’t it fabulous and 70’s?? I was obviously born too late.
