I can’t get over this ADORABLE wall decal. I know the hubs will absolutely kill me if I buy it for our home, but I’m severely tempted. Like, I may have the checkout screen staring back at me as we speak. Like, I may have hit the submit button. Oh well, he’ll get over it, right?
So I know I don’t post too much about beauty here on the blog, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a beauty addict! I absolutely live for high end (& low end) makeup products. From a very young age, I started my makeup collection and I haven’t looked back since. Unfortunately for me, it has one pitfall: I don’t know how to apply any of it correctly. For this reason, I often feel like I’ve used a bunch of product, but no one can tell I’m wearing makeup. That’s why I can never go wrong with lipstick – now that I can apply!
That’s why I am totally digging Estee Lauder’s new punchy Pure Color Collection for Fall 2012. Among my favorites were their Violet Underground eyeshadow palette, which is one of my beauty staples now, and the beautiful lipsticks featured above. What I love the most is that each shade contains silver and gold sparkle pearls which neutralize lips, making them look beautiful on all skin tones for a faceted, sequined shine that sparkles. And you know I love sparkles!
But I don’t want to be greedy and keep them all for myself, which is why I’m hosting a giveaway (!!!) featuring some pretty sweet swag from the collection! Up for grabs is a lipstick in Violet Crush, lipgloss in Rebellious Violet and a powder eyeshadow in Cyber Ruby. We had big plans for Saturday. After too many back-to-back vacations and just general bad eating, the hubs and I are on a strict calorie-counting regime, and we really want to incorporate more exercise and physical activities into our daily routine (we were getting way too comfortable being couch potatoes). This is why we were really excited to pull our bikes out of the garage and start riding again. Unfortunately, Miami’s fickle weather did not work in our favor. Mid-way through our ride, it began to torrentially downpour. We had to pedal to the metal all the way back home, but at least we got a lot of shrieks and laughter in. That’s gotta count for something right?

After a fun trip to the Keys with some of my closest friends, I closed my birthday weekend with a family get together at my sister’s house. We had a great time laughing, reminiscing and comparing sibling similarities. I wanted to be comfortable, but also play the role of the birthday girl. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to pull out my new H&M outfit that I picked up while in California a couple of weeks back. I can’t tell you how in love I am with it and I can’t wait to remix the separate pieces. Apparently polka dots were a theme this year.

Even though it seems like the hubs and I would spend a ridiculous amount of time together, we don’t really get a chance to be alone and romantic too much. Life tends to get in the way, like it often does, and before we know it, we have not gone on a date in months. I think dates are a super important part of relationships that help keep them fresh and fun, so I was very happy when the hubs suggested we have a romantic dinner date for my birthday this past weekend.
We ate at Grazianos, a really delicious Argentinian steak house (we are carnivores), where we had good wine, good conversation, and snuck in some sweet hand holding and flirtatious looks. It was followed by seeing Wes Anderson’s latest flick, Moonrise Kingdom, which was hands down adorable and the perfect choice for the evening (he had deemed Batman wasn’t romantic enough). And it was lovely. I couldn’t imagine starting my birthday weekend off better.
I am such a lucky girl.
I had a thing for Stitch for a very long time (OK, I still do). My 21st family birthday cake had his face on it (my friends got me one with Elijah Wood’s face on it – ha), and I basically had every single piece of Stitch-related paraphernalia available. People even state that my dogs are very Stitch-like (they are), so naturally I NEED THIS CASE. Did I make myself clear?
As promised, both myself and the hubs were able to snap a few pictures of Comic Con attendees that were rocking some sweet outfits. Although we weren’t able to get as many as we wanted for you guys because I got ill and things were just very hectic, here are a few great ones!
It’s been a tough week.
I got sick while on vacation, and it has proven to be the never ending stomach bug. I’m still sick as we speak, but I’m slowly improving. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, so I won’t focus on that. Instead, check out the huge risk I decided to take with my hair before leaving on vacation:
Pink ombre!
While searching through Pinterest, I had seen such awesome fashion colored ombre hairstyles, and wanted one to call my own! Now that I don’t work in an office, I figured it was my time to have a little fun. Five hours in a salon later, my hairstylist did a fantastic job making it a reality! I am so happy with it – especially how long it has lasted! Two weeks later and it still is pretty vibrant and beautiful. If you are in the South Florida area and looking for a talented hair dresser, I totally recommend Valerie from Peter of London. She has never steered me wrong!

Like every girl, I have a hobby. It just turns out that mine consists of changing into unique frocks and playing dress-up for a day. Thanks to the ladies at Terribly Girly Photography, I can look different for a day and have snapshots to remember the look by.
The last time I played dress-up, I decided to go with an 80’s theme. Inspired by JEM and everything truly outrageous, I posed in candy-colors and bright shoes. The pictures were a hit.
