What I Wore: Surprise Party

On Saturday, my hubby told me to get ready, bring a bikini and a big appetite. I was taken to breakfast at Palacio de los Jugos, an extremely popular Cuban market/juice bar in Miami, which was absolutely delicious and such a treat (we don’t have one nearby). Afterwards, the blindfold was presented and from that point forward, I had no idea where I was going or what was happening. To my total surprise, when the blindfold was removed, I was in front of some of my closest friends at one of their homes surrounded by the cutest party favors/supplies and gluten free snacks! I was blown away. I couldn’t even believe how quickly the time slipped by – I had such a good time. I feel so thankful that I have such amazing people in my life. So a huge thank you to everyone that made it possible – it was a very special day. :)

What I Wore: Company Dinner

I gave you all a sneak peek of my outfit earlier this week, and here’s the official post! I had a fun dinner scheduled with my boss and new coworkers Sunday evening at Balans on Biscayne. I had a good time getting to know everyone (there are 17 of us!), laughing, eating and refraining from drinking. Yeah, you heard right. I had to turn down glass after glass of champagne because I was on antibiotics – major fail. But at least I looked cute! Now that I know the entire team, I’m definitely looking forward to future get-togethers with this fun group. I hear something about a party bus next time? ;)

Also, this was a great opportunity to show off our cute little terrace! Don’t you just love it? It makes me happy every time I sit out there. Especially when there are drinks and books involved. Just sayin’.

Lovable Friday!

1. Asos Clutch

I am absolutely in love with this color for summer. That gorgeous turquoise green just reminds me of the beach, namely my most favorite place on Earth: the Florida Keys. This portfolio-style clutch from Asos would just cheer up any outfit, hell it would cheer me up everytime I looked at it! Unfortunately, it comes with a hefty price tag, but comfort yourself in knowing that Asos does not charge any shipping rates! Hey, as a shopaholic you always have to find the silver linings!

Summer Finds

So back a couple of weeks ago, I posted about some summer essentials that I was hoping to find while in Chicago shopping at H&M. Unfortunately, I was surprised to see that they didn’t have too many summery options (where were their shorts? fun beach hats?), I was able to score a couple. And since I promised to share with all of you upon my return, here are my recent additions to my summer wardrobe:

I found a fun and flirty bikini at…Target! I loved the color combo and the ruffles! I had been searching for an affordable ruffled bikini ever since first setting eyes on this beauty from Asos. Happy to report that it is officially my birthday bikini – 30 doesn’t look so bad in this little number!

Lovable Friday!

First off, happy July everyone! Its my most favorite month, as it’s my birthday! This year will be a rough one to swallow (the big 3-0), but I still like all the love and festivities that surrounds it, so…bring it on!

1. Gorgeous photo setup

It’s summer time, and that means what better backdrop than the beautiful outdoors for your next photoshoot (make sure to pack a portable fan if you are a fellow South Florida resident)? Although mother nature can be beautiful on her own, these gorgeous props featured above can only help. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to be part of this shoot? Or at least run by and steal a cupcake?

What I Wore: Sightseeing in Chicago

Chicago was absolutely wonderful! I loved it the first time I went back in 2006, but it was definitely nice to go again in warm weather. It was a totally different experience, and I loved every minute of it. We had some really great food, saw some beautiful architecture and enjoyed some seriously delicious weather. I had one day all by my lonesome to explore the windy city (hubby was at a conference), so I had some quality park time, went shopping & walked to & from Navy Pier getting a fair dose of some gorgeous cityscapes. And this is what I wore while doing it:

Dress; Old Navy
Sheer crop top; H&M
Sandals; Gap outlet
Earrings; Forever 21
Assorted bracelets; gifted
Skeleton key; Etsy
Sunnies; Forever 21
Bag; Levi’s

Double Trouble

Net and I have been friends since we were 14. I believe our friendship really blossomed during a Bush concert, when she yelled at me that I was a “BITCH!” from the stands (due to my floor seat status). Ah, comradery. We have been in each others’ lives ever since. We shared many laughs, tears, and at times, screaming matches, but my favorite moments have been the seemingly mundane. Driving through the city of Miami on chilly days with the windows down in my VW Beetle, having impromptu silly photoshoots around town, playing James Bond on Nintendo 64 in bed. Those are the times I cherish the most, and always will. And despite not seeing each other in a long time, when we met up for this fun photoshoot with the hubs, it was as if no time had passed at all. And that, my friends, is friendship. And I think ours really shines in the photos below:

Summer of Essie

I have harbored quite a love affair with Essie nail polish over the past few months. It really helps that I’ve found my own little secret location that sells each glorious shade for only $3 (totally fuels the obsession), so I’ve been growing a pretty serious collection. However, it’s always looking to expand, and these summer colors are definitely fitting the bill. ;)

1. Mint Candy Apple (check!)
2. Lapis of Luxury
3. Vermillionaire (check!)
4. Tart Deco (check!)
5. Neo Whimsical

What are some of your favorite polish shades for this summer?
ps; How cute is that tattoo pictured above?

Lovable Friday

1. Geronimo Balloons

I’m a big fan of balloons. They just really set the mood and tone for a fun festivity. That’s why my jaw dropped when I discovered Geronimo balloons. They are nothing short of magical: huge and perfectly round 36 inch spheres, tied with glittery, gorgeous, fairy-like streamers of wonder. Yes, I am in love. Want to know more? Such a sweet story.

Summer Desires

Wanted items this summer

Mini shorts, $56
Zara long skirt, $60
Jumpsuits and romper, $70
Zara striped skirt, $40
Victoria s Secret beach bikini
FOSSIL cross body bag, $81
Fedora hat, $18

This is my first Polyvore set, and I have to say, I’m digging how easy it is to put one of these together! We may have a successful relationship together in the future. But, I digress. I put together this fun little compilation to share some of the essential pieces I would like to add to my summer wardrobe while doing some quick shopping in Chicago next week. I’ll be hopping on board my hubby’s business trip, and hopefully making the most out of my time in The Windy City by playing (not-your-average) tourist & visiting with some of my friends. And, of course, hitting the nearest H&M! I am in search of a brightly colored maxi skirt, a bold-colored striped skirt, a fun beach hat, a versatile crossbody bag, a pair of hotly hued (but age appropriate) shorts, a flirty bikini & finally, a cropped jumpsuit. Here’s hoping the shopping gods are with me!

Whatever I do find, I’ll make sure to share with all of you upon my return to the blogosphere!

What are some items you think are summer essentials?
