Lovable Friday!

1. Castle bed linens; these bed linens couldn’t be cuter if they tried. The Australia based company prides themselves on providing quality hand made products, specifically stark white linens with perfectly flouro pillowcases in fun designs. It’s times like these were I start to curse the existence of international shipping.

2. Mini cacti garden; I’ve developed a deep love of succulents. I don’t know if it’s because they are easier to care for (& I have a black thumb) or if they are just more aesthetically pleasing to me, but I can’t get enough of them. This adorable mini garden would make the perfect centerpiece for your coffee table or outdoor patio. Plus is that these little cuties can even be found at your local CVS for less than $2 a pop!

3. DIY envelopes; this blogger stated that she may be crazy. I personally think she’s a genius. I love looking through those huge scrapbook paper pads whenever I am at Joann’s or Michael’s, so the thought of making adorable custom envelopes with them make my heart flutter. I also enjoy Friday night crafting while watching rom-coms. I think this may be love, guys.

4. Flower pops; file this under, “too pretty to eat.” Well, maybe. These would be the perfect addition to a summer pool party, bridal or baby shower. Just make sure the flowers you choose are edible or you may be in for a not-so-tasty surprise(did I mention that one time my hubs ate his wedding boutineer? Yikes).

5. DIY outdoor bar; although this will surely prove to be one hell of an undertaking, I am willing to man up for the challenge. I’ve always wanted to have a bar in our backyard, since it is the perfect space for summer pool parties, but I don’t really have the room (or extra budget) to get one. In comes this amazing compact bar! Now…to make it hurricane proof….

{Adventures in Pinteresting}: Dip Dye Pots

I think this is my first adventures in Pinteresting that is not fashion-related – that’s crazy! Now that my test is over, I finally have time to do something I love ever so much: crafting. It’s my form of therapy (along with wine & gluten free cupcakes, of course), and just generally makes me a happier person. The second I saw this DIY on Pinterest, I knew I had to conquer it. It seemed so simple! Seemed.

Getting those lines nice & straight all around the pots was SO hard. But honestly, now that they house some adorable cacti and succulents, you can’t even notice. They are honestly the perfect statement piece for a coffee table, nightstand or to use as a gift, like mentioned in the original post. And aside from the precise tape wrapping skills needed, it is a pretty easy DIY to tackle on a rainy day while listening to your favorite new album (mine? JT’s The 20/20 Experience).

Lovable Friday!

1. State Stamp

I love sending snail mail, especially when it is adorned with special stickers and stamps. Receiving a package in the mail jumps up 10,000 more points when it is pretty to look at, so I am loving all over these state address stamps. And before you scoff at the asking price, know that they are each hand-lettered. Delicious.

Master Bedroom Redo

Is it possible to nest without being pregnant?
This is what I’ve been asking myself since I decided 2013 would be the year that we would start phase 2 of home renovations/remodeling/general facelifts. Although I feel like our house is definitely a home, we want it to portray more of our personalities, so we are looking for more art for the walls, spunkier furniture and accessories to spruce things up a bit in certain rooms.

I am currently focusing on the living room, but the bedroom is next up on the plate. Right now, our bedroom is very dark and masculine. Basically: not us. We wanted to make it a little lighter and brighter, and the hubs has been nice enough to let me add some more feminine touches. Here is a guide I’ve been working with to try and decide on aesthetic and I decided to share it with all of you in case you are also looking for something similar for any room in your home; new or old.

1; Audrey mirror 2; Gazelle figurine 3; Malm dresser 4; Fado table lamp 5; Mirrored glass table 6; Polka dot lucite tray 7; Polka dot sheets

So back to that question. Nesting: only a phenomenon while pregnant? I vote no. What do you think?

Lovable Friday

1. DIY Desk Organizer

For all of us that have an ::ahem:: love of writing instruments, it can tend to get out of hand. Case in point: I am currently looking at about 15 pens and pencils cluttering my supposed dining room table centerpiece tray. That is definitely not where they belong, and it is flat out embarrassing. That’s why I love this super easy DIY consisting of toilet paper rolls and an old shoe box. Hello! Adorable pen/pencil/marker holder that will no longer leave you ashamed in no time!

1. Blu DOT for Target

I’ve always lusted over Blu DOT home furnishings, but it’s always been just out of reach financially. So I was content admiring from afar. You can only imagine my reaction when I saw that they decided to partner up with Target for a more affordable collaboration! I’m pretty sure that is nothing new, and I am late to this game, but I am excited either way. The console featured above is one of my favorite pieces and would fit great in our quirky and fun living room. What’s your fav?

Lovable Friday!

I am so so so so happy to have Lovable Friday back in action!!!! I love sharing all my most favorite things for the week with all of you and those things have definitely been piling up for the past 3 months.

1. Boo, You Whorecrux tee
Oh my Potter! I can’t even handle the amazingness of this tee right now. I love not only that it is a great Potter reference, but also an equally fantastic Mean Girls one. The two melded together might quite possibly be the best pairing ever. I obviously need this shirt for my next Wizarding World visit. Am I right, Potterheads??

How Was Your Weekend?

Mine was eventful. And not in the way I would have liked. My hubby went away on a friends trip to New York City (I hate how studying continually gets in the way of me enjoying life – ugh), and I had big plans. Mainly involving studying and getting some items checked off my to-do list. Unfortunately, the universe had another idea.

I ended up fracturing my foot after playing with my dog (you notice that there are never good reasons for injuries?) late night Friday, and had to be put in a cast and crutches, which are not coming off for another month. It was very exciting. But since I always try to focus on the positive, here were some highlights;

We got a new chevron rug for our living room from Urban Outfitters on mega sale! I love it so much & it gives our space some new personality. Gwen also approves of it and told me she can’t wait to pee on it in the very near future (her new favorite past time). // The series finale of Fringe was amazing, was it not? I’m glad I watched it alone because I was sobbing like a fool. Favorite moment? You are my favorite thing. Heart strings = pulled.

My big, swollen foot unable to fit in my flippy floppies and killing my Miami Winter outfit. // Colorblocking manicure with Essie’s Cute As A Button & Pansy to brighten my limpy status.

Little things make me happier than brand new agendas. I’m still a dinosaur & don’t believe in using my phone to manage my schedule – I think it’s due to my paper goods obsession. // Speaking of paper goods, I found a great website where you can get really adorable drawer liners. I ordered a sample for our kitchen drawers & I absolutely love it!

My busted up foot in its cast. Basically what my life will look like for the next month.
2013, be better please.

Deck the Halls

I was so relieved to take a break from studying to be able to spend some quality time with the hubs & decorate our house for Christmas this past weekend! I feel like people jumped on the Christmas train way earlier this year – there were houses in my neighborhood decked out for the holidays well before Thanksgiving! What gives? I personally like to take holidays one at a time. What’s the rush, people?!

Have I mentioned how much I love having a faux tree? SO easy and low maintenance! The only thing I do miss is that delicious pine smell that no longer permeates my home. However, that’s nothing a little holiday Febreeze can’t take care of! ;)

Ps; although I find myself unable to sleep as soundly as I used to at night, I’m kind of in love with American Horror Story. I’m pretty sure Zachary Quinto is to blame (ohmyhawt).
