Happy Hump Day {Role Reversal}: Daisy Lowe

Remember the scandalous scandal that was Pearl Lowe and Gavin Rossdale’s love child? Everyone was flipping their lids and just wouldn’t drop it, despite the kid being a teenager and it happening way before Gavin was with Gwen, let alone knew her. But…I digress. What resulted from that tumultuous 80’s relationship was Daisy, a British model that is known best for showing off her tatas (none pictured, sorry guys) and dancing in lingerie for Esquire (video is hypnotizing, don’t really know why). And I like her. She seems like the type of chick that would be a great dancing/drinking partner, and I’m always looking for some of those. Please send all resumes to meli@melificent.com. ;)

Happy Hump Day: Milo Ventimiglia

Back in the day when Heroes was amazing, Milo was on my DVR nonstop. The hubs and I were late on the bandwagon, but instantly fell in love when it was on Netflix instant. We were so hooked, in fact, that we spent some sleepless nights trying to catch up (refer to this similar situation). Believe it or not, I wasn’t too into Milo (the Quints had all my attention), until I met him at Comic Con in 2010. Wowza. He’s nice to look at. Just sayin’.

Have fun doing just that below!

Happy Hump Day: Jeremy Renner

So. I saw The Avengers this past weekend (I know, last person on Earth), and I absolutely loved it (along with the rest of the world). Aside from ridiculously fun action scenes, the movie was a total eye candy dream, was it not? Something I was not expecting though was Jeremy Renner. I know it’s a terrible thing to say, it really is, but his face is not so much. HOWEVER, his body is ridiculous. AM I RIGHT, ladies?? I mean, I was totally feeling it. Especially in his male Katniss outfit (I know, Hawkeye and all that. I like my name for him better). Melificent approves.

Carry on.

Happy Hump Day {Role Reversal}: Anna Torv

The hubs and I have been Fringe addicts since day one. But I do clearly remember our friends complaining at first that they didn’t dig the main character, Olivia Dunham. They would say that her acting was weak and they didn’t like her cadence. I also clearly remember correcting all of them as quickly as possible: she’s Australian! I guess I instantly had a girl crush on Ms. Torv. I attribute it to her strong, bad ass persona. This only escalated when I had a run in with her at Comic Con. Please ask me where. Only the worst place for a celebrity run in: the women’s bathroom. These things only happen to me.

Happy Hump Day: Mark Ruffalo

Honestly, what’s not to love about Mark Ruffalo? He is the perfect boy next door and seems to always pick some quality roles. Although I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that one of my favorites was him in 13 Going on 30 (I love that damn movie), I’m super excited to see him tackle the role of the Hulk in The Avengers next week. Mainly because I can’t wait to see him grappling with such a dark side.

Happy Hump Day: William Levy

William Levy is so hot right now. He’s kind of like Hansel. Only I don’t know if this phenomenon is sweeping the country. Is it? I know he is super popular down in South Florida because of his Cuban-American roots, which instantly makes him a fan favorite. He was also featured on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Miami, where he was posing for Alexia’s magazine, Venue. But now I hear he is on a little show called Dancing with the Stars, am I right? Well, apparently he has cha-cha’ed his way into everyone’s heart because he was a reader suggestion for this week’s hump day. And I always aim to please. ;)

ps; this dude’s got some SERIOUSLY questionable photos up on the Tumblrs. Doesn’t take long to scroll through and find one. You’ll know exactly which I am referring to. Yikes.

Happy Hump Day: Nick Hexum

311 has been one of my favorite bands for a very long time. In fact, I remember blasting their self-titled item in my mom’s car when I was about 14 as we pulled into a McDonald’s drive thru and the cashier complimenting me on my amazing taste in music (naturally). Ever since, they remind me of sunny days, the ocean and my youth. I especially love listening to them on gorgeous summer days with the windows down – it gives me this wonderful feeling of utter happiness and like anything is possible. I secretly desire to go on their cruise (it leaves out of Miami), but I just haven’t been able to justify the cost (yet). With that said, I’ve always had quite the thing for lead singer/guitarist, Nick Hexum. Blame it on the shimmy, the crusty 90’s bleached hair (so bad) or just his rugged good looks, either way, I was hooked.

I remember being so excited to finally see them live at Warped Tour 2001. Unfortunately, I had one of those terrible concert moments where I collapsed due to heat/claustrophobia within the first song and had to be carried out of the crowd. Thankfully, I was able to wake up and watch from afar, but I won’t lie: it’s made me want to see them the right way ever since. One day, one day. Until then, check out these lovely pictures of Mr. Hexum.

Happy Hump Day {Role Reversal}: Zooey Deschanel

So a very long time ago, all you lovely people suggested that I feature some of my favorite girls. I always had this idea on the back burner, but just never got around to it – mainly not knowing how to incorporate it into posts. Now I know. Every month, I’ll play a little role reversal on Hump Days, giving the girls a chance to shine as well.

And let’s face it. All us ladies have a few good girl crushes, right?
I had to start it with the absolutely lovely, Zooey Deschanel. She was the inspiration for my most recent haircut, and one of my most favorite style icons. I think she’s all sorts of wonderful (we even share a gluten intolerance – aw). And how amazing is her show, New Girl? It’s the highlight of my week, seriously. Plus, check out her adorable blog, Hello Giggles. Heart: bursting. Even more when she comes paired with the gorgeous Joseph Gordon Levitt. God, I love them so.

{Hunger Games Week}: Lenny Kravitz

I wanted to keep with the theme this week, but at the same time did not want to sacrifice Hump Day (I know it’s all your favorite post of the week), and then it came to me: I haven’t featured the wonderfully talented and beautiful Lenny Kravitz! Perfect. Now although a whole new generation will only know him as Cinna, Katniss’ assigned soft-spoken stylist for the games, he has always been one of my favorite musicians. I must have seen Lenny play live about 5 times during my high school and undergraduate career – I couldn’t get enough of him. I mean, who could? He is gorgeous and made some amazing music. The hubs even had one of his songs, Believe, on the list of songs he wanted to sing to me at our wedding (and when he did a test run, I cried like a baby – thank god it didn’t make the cut). I’m crossing my fingers that he does Cinna justice – he was definitely one of my favorite characters in the series.

Do you think he’ll do a good job, Tributes?
