Big Chill Appliances
1. Big Chill Appliances

The new trend in kitchens seems to be moving away from the modern stainless steel and inching closer to the retro throw back as seen with Big Chill’s colorful vintage appliances. Big Chill offers fridges, ovens and dishwashers in a rainbow of colors at a very hefty price. I, for one, am a huge fan of retro kitsch (I hope to have a checkerboard kitchen floor one day) so I would love to have one of these puppies (in that delicious candy apple red). Too bad I’ll have to win the lottery first so I’ll just admire from afar. Sigh.

2. Tim Tam's
2. Tim Tam's

I’m not a big candy person. Especially candy bars. Don’t crave them, don’t overly enjoy them. But Tim Tams? Now those are good. Especially with a big glass of organic milk. Tim Tams are an Australian chocolate biscuit composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate. Basically, the best thing in the world. Thanks to a friend’s Australian stalker, we were able to enjoy a package this week and it was heaven! See? Sometimes stalkers can serve a purpose! ;)

3. Emails from Crazy People
3. Emails from Crazy People

I’m a big fan of Fail Blog and general ridiculousness on the Internets. Sometimes it makes my work day go faster, sometimes it cheers up my bad day, sometimes it just makes me feel a whole lot smarter than the general population. And sometimes, it does all of the above. So it made me super happy to find out that Fail Blog created a new site: EmailsFromCrazyPeople.com. And it is exactly what you think it is. I have a feeling I will be submitting quite a few emails to this new website. My favorite so far? The HOA vs. Gargoyle letter. Amazing.

4. Barn Doors
4. Barn Doors

I love doors. I love big doors, colorful doors, interesting doors. But I had never seen this before! Barn doors used as interior doors – absolutely gorgeous! And when painted in a gorgeous bright color, as these are from Southern Living Magazine, manages to turn a rustic piece into a fun & modern accent! For more barn door inspiration, check out Apartment Therapy.

5. Gavin Plays Us
5. Gavin Plays Us

Just a perfectly good excuse to post these pictures again. Let’s just look at them a little more. Now more. OK, now that that’s over. Moving on…Gavin Rossdale will be attending and participating at the Chris Evert-Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic in Delray Beach, FL in November. Please keep in mind that these photos above were taken at last year’s event. You better believe I will not be missing this, especially since it is basically in my backyard. How have I not gone in the past? For any of my fellow (and local) G fangirls that would like to come along with me, tickets are only $20!

I love the barn doors and the retro appliances! IDK if I could pull off that style, but if anyone can it’s you! The gargoyle letter singleihandedly convinced me that I do not want my next place to have an HOA. They’re a nightmare! And, Gavin is looking HOT!!!!

  • Tammy

Love the retro appliances and the barn door idea. But I agree with Adri that only you could pull that off!

As for the HOA letter, it was, hands down, the best one and I also despise those types of communities!

  • Bonnie

Love the barn doors, saw them on HGTV in some “extreme” home, very great idea.

And Gavin.. you know I’m there! Where do I get my ticket?

  • Elsie

LMAO. The email site is awesome.
“I can only imagine you screaming in fear when the Snuggles fabric softener bear is speaking to you through your evil television set.”
And the page 6 smeared feces letter on the single tree are my personal favorites.
