1. Billy Corgan & his Spirits in the Sky

Billy Corgan’s latest venture is being labeled as a “supergroup,” but I just like to think of Spirits in the Sky as a group of talented musicians that got together to have a little fun. The Spirits got together in remembrance of Sky Saxon, the Seeds’ singer/bassist that passed away earlier this year from an organ infection. The group includes Dave Navarro, Linda Strawberry, Mike Byrne (the Pumpkins’ new 19 year old drummer) and former members of other psychedelic 70’s bands. They decided to play to small crowds in tiny venues (such as Muddy Waters Coffee Shop) around Southern California and from the footage I have heard and seen, it was quite the show! Corgan premiered a few new songs, which can always be a little scary for a big Pumpkins fan like myself, but I was beyond impressed. The new material sounds great! I just wish they would have decided to mosey on over to our neck of the woods. Why does California get all the good stuff? Anywho, I’m happy for Billy because I know at this point in his life, what he wants to do more than anything, is just play good music for the fun of it. And he definitely seemed to achieve that with Spirits in the Sky.

2. Hostage
2. Hostage

Zachary Quinto teamed up with his production company, Before the Door, and Funny Or Die and put together Hostage, this hilarious video for the website revolving around the most dysfunctional relationship ever. It is so wrong on so many levels, but absolutely amazing at the same time. Fun fact: Quinto was almost arrested twice while filming the opening sequence at the bakery. Locals thought he was really holding the place up! For realsies, babe.

3. Three Frames blog
3. Three Frames blog

Three Frames is a ridiculously cool blog that posts .gif’s consisting of three frames from various movies. I hope they keep compiling more because for now they seem to be focusing on oldies, which I am not always familiar with. Does anyone know what movie the .gif I chose for this post is from? I sure don’t! I just thought it was hysterical.

Mixko Here Comes the Sun Necklace
Mixko Here Comes the Sun Necklace

I love spending hours scouring Etsy and this necklace is one of the many reasons why. You can find all sorts of amazing goodies in Mixko’s Etsy shop, but my favorite has to be their Here Comes the Sun necklace. I love the imagery with the rainbow and dove in the front and the last solitary raindrop hanging down your neck to signify the sunshine after the rain. So beautiful! I’m trying my best to hold back on extreme shopping impulses unless totally necessary, but the $30 price tag is so tempting for such a unique piece. Must.control.

5. Hu2 Stickers
5. Hu2 Stickers

I always suggest wall decals whenever someone says they need some extra quirkiness or want to add a fun aspect to a certain room. I personally have one in my kitchen and another in my bedroom. They are inexpensive ways to add personality to any space, so it’s no surprise that I am in love with Hu2’s stickers! They have the most unique and amazing vinyl stickers for any place in your home from living room to bedroom to bathroom to kitchen! My personal favorites are the chalkboard vinyls – will definitely be picking up one of those when we get a new place! Also, check out their creative laptop decals – my pick would be the swallows!
