1. Muse: The Resistance
1. Muse: The Resistance

Besides the Smashing Pumpkins, I can’t really say I love a band more than Muse. Not very surprising since they have a lot of similar characteristics musically. What can I say? I’m predictable. Either way, this band blows my mind on a regular basis so I had been impatiently waiting for their new album for what seems like ages. Finally, there was a leak this week and I didn’t think twice before hitting the download button. I know people are going to hate because that’s what people do, but my GOD is this album good. I can only describe it as an eargasm – I would make love to every track, no joke. What other band can close their album with a 3-part symphony? Absolutely no one, but Muse. My favorite of the moment? Undisclosed Desires. It could be described as Smashing Pumpkins & Depeche Mode’s song baby and it is all sorts of awesome. Have I mentioned that I am going to see them open up for U2 next month in Tampa? Because I am so excited I could burst. I’ve never seen them live and although we have nosebleed seats (seriously, who can afford decent U2 tickets???), I am going to be happier than a pig in shit. No joke. Plus, there are rumors that they will be playing a 12 song set, much longer than typical openers (because they are awesome, hello)! So if you are going, I’ll be the certifiably insane fangirl singing and dancing like a fool. Feel free to come over and flail with me.

2. The Reading Rug
2. The Reading Rug

It is no secret that I am lucky enough to know some pretty amazing people. I’ve reached that point in my life where I love all my friends and treasure them being in my life. I’m happy to share one of these friend’s blogs with all of you. Adri and I first met when we were both planning our weddings at the Spanish Monastery on The Knot, but our friendship managed to transcend past wedding planning into something deeper. She’s a great friend who is one of the most passionate people I know when it comes to her career: teaching. She is now a reading coach and has decided to put together a blog, The Reading Rug, all about the books she reads on her off-time. Thanks to her posts, I’ve been turned on to a whole slew of new books which will surely cost me a whole day of shopping at Barnes & Nobles but I couldn’t be more grateful. Hopefully she can do the same for my fellow book worms!

3. Paper Source's India Collection
3. Paper Source's India Collection

I absolutely love paper goods and Paper Source is your one stop shop for beautiful and unique items! This website was definitely my favorite spot when wedding planning and many of my envelopes came straight from their warehouses. While looking through their September catalog, I stumbled on their gorgeous India Collection. Wow! It’s festive, colorful and exotic – I definitely would be all over this set if I was planning some kind of event. I especially love their Lotus Flower wrapping paper and Painted Mithila Boxes. So gorgeous!

4. Adorable Pink Party
4. Adorable Pink Party

OK, so this is a one-year-old’s birthday party but I’d love it to be my own!!! This lovely pink party was featured on one of my favorite party planning blogs, Hostess with the Mostess. My jaw just drops repeatedly at the level of creativity and paired with my favorite color – I am in heaven! The YUM! drink stirrers, custom DIY bubble bottles and water balloons are to die for – since I’m not going to planning any of my own kids’ birthday parties anytime soon, can I plan someone else’s pink party?? Puhlease? ;)

5. The Broke-Ass Bride
5. The Broke-Ass Bride

Words can’t describe how adorable this blog is. I kind of want to write her fan mail and profess my girl crush. But I won’t, no worries. I will just gush about her here instead! Once upon a time, Dana wanted the wedding of her dreams, but when the question was popped, reality hit in the form of two nasty words in the wedding world: tiny budget. However, as she expresses on her blog, their budget may have been broke-ass but their love was rich. And you can tell. It’s so refreshing to see two people genuinely in love – I instantly feel like I can connect since I am lucky enough to share the same. Anyways, thankfully Dana decided to continue participating in the blogging world after her (AMAZING) wedding had come and gone. I absolutely adore her fashion sense, taste level and general view on life. She’s one to add to the Google reader, folks!
