Lovable Friday!

1. This incredible cake
1. This incredible cake

As most of you know, my blog will be one year old next week. When I first started blogging, I never imagined that anyone would really care to read about my life and the things I like to do, wear, see and hear. Now, I average about 300 hits a day. I know that does not make me the next Dooce or anything, but it is definitely more than I ever expected. I was kind of bummed because all the projects I had planned for my anniversary either fell through or just didn’t happen because of time restraints and then my friend Rosie shows up with this amazing cake! She is always one of the first to comment and is always singing my praises all over the Internets. She is really the sweetest and most incredible person. So thank you so much, Rosie! I know I told you a million times, but you made my month and totally caught me off guard! I heart you :)

2. Conversation Pieces

I used to hate wearing dresses, thinking they were overly girly and not practical. I also hadn’t come to term with my legs (still working on it). But now I have to say that dress shopping is my favorite kind of shopping and my closet is packed with all sorts of dresses that I wear on a regular basis: to work, dates, out with the girls, to the park, well – you get the point! That’s why when I discovered Conversation Pieces thanks to Fashion Under 100, I was in heaven! Conversation Pieces is an adorable little website that carries the sweetest little dresses at really affordable prices. Best part? Shipping is free within the US! However, because they are such great steals, a lot of the items tend to sell out pretty fast. So make sure to add this website to your bookmarks and check it often!

3. Soiree de Poche - Vampire Weekend
3. Soiree de Poche - Vampire Weekend

So my husband introduced me to this amazing French music blog, La Blogotheque, where the bloggers occasionally hold shows in what looks like warehouses and invite amazing bands to play a few songs while they document it and put it on their site. Although I didn’t watch the others, I am completely enamored with Vampire Weekend’s performance. I’ve never wanted to be somewhere this bad. Look how intimate it is and how much fun everyone is having. Granted, I don’t think anyone watching Vampire Weekend could be anything but happy, but still. How can I get a job here? I’d move to France no problem. Just sayin’.

4. Insanely awesome LOST cupcakes!
4. Insanely awesome LOST cupcakes!

Wow, these make mine look absolutely pathetic! A New Jersey vegan bakery was offering these beauties in honor of the premiere earlier this week. How perfect are they! I don’t think I could have bitten into them (ok, huge lie there). Not sure if they are available anymore, but if you are local and want to check it out, you can go about ordering them (or any other yummy cuppie) here.

5. Wizarding World of Harry Potter
5. Wizarding World of Harry Potter

In the words of Rachel Zoe, “I die.” Earlier this week, Universal Studio’s unveiled their new website for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Potter “theme park within a theme park” set to open at Islands of Adventure in Spring of 2010 and it is ridiculously cool. Do you guys know how excited I am for this park??? I’m  going to be like a little kid in a candy store. It will be completely pathetic. Plus they announced that the majority (if not all) of the cast is going to be present opening day! Now I just need a date and soon! I am so sick of reading Spring 2010 – give me a month, Universal! I need to make plans…and quick!

Meli! I love all your blog posts, but none has excited me more than the reminder of the Harry Potter theme park (not that I haven’t checked the site already). I simply can NOT wait and am glad I will not be the only one behaving like a kid at a candy store, because seriously, I am going to go CRAZY in there!
