Happy Birthday(s).

Today is a pretty awesome day.
Why?
Well first off, it’s 3/11 and everyone knows I love me some 311. Secondly, it’s my mother’s birthday and lastly, it is my brother-in-law’s birthday! That’s right. My mother and brother-in-law share the same birthday. The back story is pretty hilarious – ask me about it sometime ;)

These two people have made a pretty lasting impression on my life so I deemed it only appropriate to dedicate my blog post to them both today.

Despite everything you have heard, my mother means the world to me. She can be neurotic, anxious and overly dramatic but without her, I wouldn’t be me. She made me into the person I am today and I only have her to thank. Whenever I needed someone, she was there whether it was to give me advice or just for one of those “mom hugs” that cannot be replicated. But my favorite? She has always been there, supporting me and wholeheartedly believing in everything I do. Believing in me as a person. Believing that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Thinking the world of me. So thank you, Mom, for being my number one fan for the past 27 years. I may not say it often, but I love you more than words can express.

And now onto the birthday boy. It seems kind of silly attaching an “in-law” to the back of the word brother when describing him because he is exactly that: my brother. He has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old and I honestly cannot imagine life without him. When it seemed like everyone would turn their back on me, he was there. There to listen to everything from my ridiculous teenage complaints to my very valid emotional spells. He taught me to be patient and that I was worth so much more than I gave myself credit for. My nephew is the luckiest little boy to have been rewarded with such an amazing father. I love you, David. Always.

I hope this post inspires you to give out some free family hugs today.
They are always needed & always appreciated.

3/15 is pretty special, too. Julius Ceasar died, Chris Jennings was born. The world (for the most part) has never been teh same.
