Weekend Highlights

Saturday was a highly anticipated day in the world of Melificent. I was finally going to see The Deathly Hallows with some of my closest friends at Cinebistro, a 21+ theater that serves you dinner and drinks as you enjoy the movie. Without giving away any spoilers (I know a lot of people have yet to see the film), the movie was nothing short of incredible. It stayed true to the book and really did a great job evoking all the intense feelings that are swimming all throughout the series closer. I’ve always complained that watching the movies does not compare to reading the books, but while watching Part 1, all the same emotions I felt while reading the book came right back up to the surface. In other words, I was a big heaping pile of loser. I don’t even know how I’m going to handle the second chapter, perhaps with an industrial size tissue box.

Our amazing tree came in from Treetopia last week so we decided to put it up on a whim yesterday! We know it’s a little early, but we were just too excited to wait any longer. Kind of like two little kids on Christmas Eve. I know I’m a little biased, but I think it looks absolutely awesome. I had always wanted a really retro and fun tree that matched the hubs and I’s personalities and I think we really hit the nail on the head with this one! I had forgotten what amazing ornaments I had collected last year during the after Christmas sales – all the colorful pieces really popped against the white tree. There was also something extra special about this little ritual in our new home – new beginnings, new traditions. It was lovely.

Have a great {short} week, everyone!

Love the tree, I love all the bright colors against the white! You also manage not to kill any trees which I think is a big plus.

I second the HP love, I think that this time around the filmmakers were true to the book, and you get a real sense of how emotional and sad the characters are and you feel for them as they go on their journey. Yay Harry Potter!
