Lovable Friday

1. Chocolate Spoons

I love experimenting with desserts. They are usually a lot less difficult to make than main entrees and are just way more fun. Wouldn’t you agree? Definitely the case when it comes to these too-cute chocolate party spoons. They really make an impression with their bright colors and decorative accents, but seem so easy to make! I’m going to have a go at them for our Valentine’s Day celebration (I’m planning the whole thing this year – pressure!), and will definitely report back with a play-by-play. Until then, check out the Delicious Delicious Delicious blog’s short and sweet tutorial!

2. David Shrigley Guitar Picks

If you come to my house, I am 99% sure you will run into a guitar pick in a strange place. Wedged between couch cushions, sitting in the sink, in my dog’s mouth – you get the idea. Living with a musician has its ups and downs after all (love you, honey), and at times, I wished guitar picks had never been made or at least not made so small that they can be virtually misplaced everywhere and anywhere. However, these hilarious picks by David Shrigley would at least put a smile on my face as I begrudgingly collected them from random locations.

3. Carrie Bicycle Basket

My cruiser bike is just all sorts of wonderful. I was completely blown away when all my friends surprised me last year on my birthday, telling me that they had all pitched in so I could get the adorable floral Liberty of London cruiser. I have put it to good use ever since: biking to local food trucks to lessen guilt of inevitable overeating, pub crawls on wheels (dangerous) and general joy rides on beautiful days. However, I have noticed that it is missing one very important accessory: the basket. I have looked high and low for a basket that would match my bike’s personality, but have always come up short. At least, until I set my eyes on the Carrie Bicycle Basket. It is so perfect! Modern, yet vintage. Girly, yet tough. I just wish the price tag wasn’t so high ($60), but I guess that’s what you get for individuality. In case you are wondering, I’d get it in white. ;)

4. Striped Paper Straws

To quote Mugatu, striped paper straws are “so hot right now.” They can be seen scattered all over party planning blogs across the Internets, and with due reason. Are they not the cutest? I love how they add that whimsical childhood element to basically any affair. I dare you to look at any decor or photo with these straws involved and not smile. It’s virtually impossible. Trust me. I really love how it was used as a fun (and cheap) centerpiece in the photo above. It also helps that they are paired with one of my most favorite flora, Billy Buttons. I’ve also seen them used with mason jars to hold signature drinks, which really melts my heart. How would you use them?

5. Vehicular Romance

I was raised in a car-lovin’ family. My dad did not believe in driving anything other than a sports car (convertible preferred), much less anything with automatic transmission. I was driven to elementary school in a 50’s Chevy Thunderbird and began driving lessons around my neighborhood at the age of 12. Cars have been and still are a very big part of my life. That is why seeing this precious engagement shoot featured on Hot Pink Brides really tugged at my heartstrings. Loving the shots with the Mustang especially (I’m a proud Pony owner), and got me thinking of maybe doing a fun shoot with our Kharman Ghia before putting it on the market (anyone interested?).

Re: number 5: you forgot to mention the car in which you were driven from the hotel to the reception in, on your wedding day, little lady. You should post a picture of that one on here.
