The great people of ZICO coconut water were nice enough to send me a variety pack last week of their delicious and refreshing product to review and share with all of you lovely readers, and I was more than willing to do just that! ZICO is an all-natural beverage that has the 5 essential electrolytes. Do you know that ZICO coconut water has more potassium than a banana and 15 times the potassium of a typical sports drink? It’s also more hydrating than water and has zero fat, cholesterol or added sugar. And it’s my new favorite (non-alcoholic) drink of the summer!

All other coconut water drinks I had tried in the past did not come in assorted flavors, but ZICO does! Now don’t start gagging – these are very slight hints of flavor. Definitely not overpowering – just the perfect amount to make your lips and tummy smile. I received mango, chocolate, pomberry, lime citron, pina tropicale and natural, and was anxious to try them all! I have to say, my favorite was the chocolate! I never thought coconut water and chocolate would mix so perfectly, but it was perfect! Especially on a hot summer day in Miami – it was such a treat to be able to feel like I was indulging, yet feel refreshed and know I was only taking in 60 calories. Who wouldn’t love that? My other favorites were natural (of course) and pomberry, although the others were very yummy as well.

If you are new to coconut water, it is the low-calorie liquid found inside young, green coconuts. I really recommend that you give it a whirl. I’m not one for trendy diet drinks, but this is different. It’s really absolutely delicious and works. I always feel dehydrated, but after starting to drink more and more coconut water, I can really tell a difference. Although I haven’t used it while working out just yet, I’ve also heard it can be very beneficial to replenish and rehydrate you to speed recovery. Fabulous, yes? I think so.
