Lovable Friday!

1. Glitter animals

Figures this lovely image came straight from Kate Spade’s Holiday shoot – why is all her stuff so perfectly fun and chic? I almost can’t stand it. Despite how gorgeous and glittery the model’s dress is, my eyes went directly to the matching sparkly penguins! How fun would these look, not only as cake toppers, but as fun centerpieces or card holders for a festive holiday cocktail party or dinner? I’m definitely going to scribble this one down as a must-do holiday project. Best part is, you can just head over to Target, and pick up some small animal figures, loose glitter and some sort of adhesive, and be ready to go! Perfect!

2. Whale necklace

Alert! New Etsy favorite! Seller, Baltica, has such a gorgeous array of accessories meant to be layered. Somehow, they are bold but girly at the same time – a vibe I absolutely adore. One of those pieces that caught my eye recently was her whale necklace, reminiscent of those irritating fail whale messages on Twitter. However, unlike those, I’m pretty sure one look at this whale will do nothing but spread a huge smile on your face.

3. Spray painted vintage finds

Although this is not a new concept to me, as I’ve spray painted not only items, but also small furniture pieces over the years, but I was inspired to take my hunt further. I usually find items to spray down in fun colors at the dollar store, or similar dollar sections of chains such as Target or Michael’s. However, I still have not made a date to attempt to thrift down here in South Florida. Unlike other big cities, our thrift shopping…well, barely exists. But that doesn’t mean I can’t give it a whirl. I know there are a few hot spots in Broward, so I think it’s about time I pick a weekend and go for it! When I do, you know I will share my experience with all of you. :)

4. Breakfast at Tiffany's baby costume

This little cutie has been making the rounds on the Internets lately, and with due reason – how adorable is this Breakfast at Tiffany’s costume made by Etsy seller, atutudes?!? This Hepburn in training really nailed the look, from the high bun to the huge shades. And look at those patent leather mary janes! I kind of want to hang out with her and drink some (virgin) cocktails. Looks like the costume already sold, but I’m sure she is someone for all you mommies out there to favorite. She has some pretty fantastic tutus for your little princess!

5. Hot pink lipstick

I’ve been following fellow Floridian blogger (now turned New Yorker), Keiko Lynn, for what feels like forever. I’ve always totally admired her bold fashion sense and natural knack for applying gorgeous makeup. Since Spring she’s been sporting this amazing shade of hot pink on her lips and I have been hooked ever since. Unfortunately, I haven’t actively searched for my own and I know that it doesn’t exactly fit the perfect fall color palette, but living in Miami, I don’t think it really makes a difference. The lovely pictured above is Make Up For Ever’s lipstick #36, which can be found online on Sephora or Amazon.

Ahhhh thrifting! I do wish it was better here. You should check out the Flamingo Plaza in Hialeah. It has a lot of good finds and multiple stores. I haven’t been there in years though. We should meet up there sometime!

I’ve been to flamingo plaza many moons ago and really wasn’t impressed (& it was kind of scary, right?), but I’m willing to give it another go! I also got some great recommendations in Broward – let’s make a date out of it!
