Inspiring Bloggers

I follow and read many blogs, but there are definitely a few that I can say really inspire me to be a better blogger, and sometimes, even a better human being. I love looking through them and feeling the ideas quickly rushing through my head. Last week, this happened in such a big way that I actually started jotting them down in the first notebook I saw – one of those scribbles was the basis of this post!

In hopes that some of these ladies can inspire you as much as they do me, I’ve decided to share my top 5 with you all;

1. The Glitter Guide

Although it is a relatively new blog on the scene, it has grown to be one of my absolute favorites. The Glitter Guide focuses on making every aspect of your life sparkle, and this lovely line was swiped directly from their about page: We believe a smile is a woman’s best accessory, that sequins are appropriate no matter what the occasion and that some days simply require a glass of champagne. Now those are words to live by! I have to say, I visit their Tumblr the most – particularly on days where I am not feeling the most glitter-y, mainly because it is like an instant pick-me-up. Their inspiring images include anything from a beautiful shot of the Eiffel Tower to a slice of pink birthday cake, but all have a common theme: fun.

2. The 10 Cent Designer

I first stumbled on 10 Cent I believe on Flickr, where her amazing home in Canada caught my eye and triggered my love affair with distressed maple flooring (and is the reason why we have it in our own home today). Her style is impeccably flawless, and her photography is not far behind (my absolute favorites are her instagram photos of horses). She is also gluten intolerant and posts some amazing recipes here, which makes me love her even more (anyone else who shares in my suffering is instantly given BFF status). Although I’m pretty sure this may hit creeper status, her life (at least, the life I see) seems so amazing and happy. And this does not make me jealous. Instead, it makes me want to strive for that in my own. One thing I am jealous of though? Those legs!

3. Gala Darling
What a crush I have on Gala! I always tease that she is the girl that is inside of me (that is always trying to break free). Aside from her fun, no holds barred sense of fashion and carefree, fun-loving attitude, Gala loves to share inspiring, self-love mantras with all her female readers. Her constant barrage of positivity is just so addictive, I find myself smiling for hours after I read through her posts. My favorite Gala-ism of late? The world is gunning for you to succeed. What an impact those few words had on my mood last week. She makes me want to believe in magic and toss endless amount of glitter into the air. Oh, and also own an unnecessary amount of sequined mouse ears.

4. Making It Lovely

I think out of all the bloggers on this list, I have been following Nicole the longest. In fact, she may have been one of the first blogs I officially added as a bookmark before the days of Google Reader, Netvibes, and such. Her home has been such an inspiration for our own, and her level of craft is really one to aspire to. I also love how much she shares about her ever-growing family both of the baby-kind and derby-kind (she is on her local Derby Lite team). I hope when I decide to become a mom, I can balance all that she does with as much style, grace and spunk.

5. Kendi Everyday
There are a lot of fashion bloggers out there, so it’s kind of a big deal to pluck one from the masses and call them your favorite. Kendi is it for me. Sure, she’s cute as a button and hilarious to boot, but I love how accessible she and her fashions are. I particularly hate when fashion bloggers become popular and in turn start posting items that are no longer realistic purchases for their readership. Kendi keeps it real, yo. She’s actually turned me on to a lot of new affordable online boutiques, which is quite a feat, since I was pretty sure I knew of them all!
