Royal Fashion

The Royal Wedding has a special meaning to me.
Sure, everyone can’t help but be excited – a regular girl, about to become a princess. The fashion. The pomp and circumstance. But I have a different reason.

I was born on Prince Charles & Princess Diana’s wedding day. Rumors have it that everyone in the delivery room exclaimed, “Princess Diana has arrived!” when I crowned. It was at that time that my middle name was chosen: Diana. That day was July 29th, 1981.

And now, one of Diana’s beloved sons, William, is to get married to the beautiful Kate Middleton. A “normal” girl. A fairy tale come true. And it’s happening on April 29, 2011 – my sister’s birthday. What? It’s so strange.

But I digress.

How gorgeous did the new princess (excuse me, dutchess) look in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen??

& her sister, and maid of honor, was not far behind in a slinky, form fitting beauty of a McQueen gown in a rich cream.

Much congratulations to the new couple, may they be the voice of a new generation!

ps; I loved all the fun hats/fascinators!

OMG I did not know this! LOVE IT!!!

Also, I adore the dress. Didn’t think she’d go so traditional but glad she did.

It’s not really something a lot of people know except family (they love telling the story), so I figured I would share the reason for my interest is all this royal mumbo-jumbo! ;)

Also, the day Diana died was especially sad for me. :|

    I’m sure it was!!

Well, at least you have a reason to be into this “mumbo jumbo.” I’ve a newfound love for the whole thing now.
