Although my weekend wasn’t the best: I got struck by some wicked, vile string of death that included a fever of 102, body aches, sore throat and generally poopiness, there were some highlights. First being that my lovely friend, Lori, stopped by to drop off a zpak for me (forever thankful) – the rest are compiled below in Instagram form:

Friday evening, I got my new Riedell roller skates! They were an early birthday gift from my awesome hubby, after I expressed interest in joining a roller derby league. Once I fully recover, I hope to start practicing around the neighborhood (I’ve just been rolling around my house for now) and plan on joining open practice either this weekend or next! Exciting stuff! Eat my dust, thirty.

Saturday morning, we celebrated my nephew’s 5th birthday at a movie theater to watch Cars 2 with family and all his little friends from school. So adorable! Both the hubs and I (mostly the hubs since I felt so terrible) made his birthday cupcakes pictured above. My sister had the ingenious idea to substitute a cupcake holder with one of his racetracks. Cool, or what? They were a hit, and so was the movie!

Sunday night I got dolled up for a company dinner at Balans, and was able to sport some new items, which is a treat since I haven’t been going out all that much. I’m pretty sure my clothes miss me! This is just a sneak peek though – look out for a full outfit post later this week
