Things I wish we had: Farmers Markets

Farmers’ Markets are usually a staple for most cities, but unfortunately, that’s not the case in Miami. I love looking through all my blogs and checking out what my favorite writers discover, whether it be fresh and organic food products or absolutely stunning flowers, often leaving me pretty envious of their loot. Thankfully, this has begun to change lately and some markets are starting to spring up around town. However, not many of these are year round and the majority are quite a hike from our home.

One in particular, the Pinecrest Gardens Farmers’ Market, isn’t too far from us and just opened this past Sunday. It runs until May so I definitely want to make it a sweet weekend date for the hubs and I. I have been dying to have some fresh flowers in the house (I think they brighten up the mood so much & lord knows I need mood brightening lately) and hope I can find some quality ones there!

That’s our favorite thing to do when we travel. I love going to the farmers’ markets, picking up some local bites, and hiking to the nearest park for a picnic.

One thing that is awesome about living in Northern NH are all of the farmer’s markets! Short season, but plentiful when around. From homemade organic flatbread pizza (which is so delish I go every week just for that) to all the fresh veggies and handmade stuff you could ever want….ahhh…the joyful days of summer/fall – alas, till next year :)

My favorite bloggers are always telling tales of all the gorgeous and cheap loot they score at vintage shops, and so far I haven’t been able to find anything of the sort here in Miami. All the good stuff is super expensive. I wish we had more shops like that, but then again, maybe I just haven’t looked hard enough….

I’ll make sure to blog all about the Pinecrest Market next week – I plan on visiting this coming Sunday w/ the hubs. And I’m crossing my fingers that it is somewhat affordable! Isn’t that the whole point of Farmers’ Markets? Although, knowing Miami, they’ll hike up the prices because of the novelty. But, I’m trying not to be jaded!
