I Miss Outfit Posts!

Just a quick little note to let you all know that I miss outfit posts terribly! For those of you that are not in the know, I fractured my foot almost 5 weeks ago. It’s been a process that included me being in a cast for 2 weeks, and now a bootie for 4 additional weeks. Good news is that I can take it off in a week and then come back full force with outfit posts. I’ve wanted to take some with the bootie in tow, but it just doesn’t feel the same.

I hope you’ve missed them just as much as I have, and I promise you they’ll be better than ever once I have all limbs back in functioning order. Three cheers for that!

Happy Hump Day: Christian Göran

I guess it makes me a hipster if I tell you that I love a boy with a beard?
So be it. It’s true. Beards definitely do it for me and I always insist the hubs rocks one whenever possible (still wish he wouldn’t have shaved for our wedding – hmph). I stumbled on this gorgeous male model while on the pinterest, and funny enough, my hubs was the one that discovered who he was for me so that I could feature him here. He truly is the best Melificent VP ever. Always willing to search hot dudes for me. Yep, he’s a keeper.

Master Bedroom Redo

Is it possible to nest without being pregnant?
This is what I’ve been asking myself since I decided 2013 would be the year that we would start phase 2 of home renovations/remodeling/general facelifts. Although I feel like our house is definitely a home, we want it to portray more of our personalities, so we are looking for more art for the walls, spunkier furniture and accessories to spruce things up a bit in certain rooms.

I am currently focusing on the living room, but the bedroom is next up on the plate. Right now, our bedroom is very dark and masculine. Basically: not us. We wanted to make it a little lighter and brighter, and the hubs has been nice enough to let me add some more feminine touches. Here is a guide I’ve been working with to try and decide on aesthetic and I decided to share it with all of you in case you are also looking for something similar for any room in your home; new or old.

1; Audrey mirror 2; Gazelle figurine 3; Malm dresser 4; Fado table lamp 5; Mirrored glass table 6; Polka dot lucite tray 7; Polka dot sheets

So back to that question. Nesting: only a phenomenon while pregnant? I vote no. What do you think?

Lovable Friday

1. DIY Desk Organizer

For all of us that have an ::ahem:: love of writing instruments, it can tend to get out of hand. Case in point: I am currently looking at about 15 pens and pencils cluttering my supposed dining room table centerpiece tray. That is definitely not where they belong, and it is flat out embarrassing. That’s why I love this super easy DIY consisting of toilet paper rolls and an old shoe box. Hello! Adorable pen/pencil/marker holder that will no longer leave you ashamed in no time!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Happy Valentines Day, readers!!!! Hope it’s every bit as full of love as every other day because you should never wait for a Hallmark holiday to express your love & gratitude for all the special people in your life!

The Walking Melificent

Sorry I will be a little MIA, readers.

Getting my foot adjusted to walking again is harder than I thought and I spend a lot of my day attempting to walk back and forth around my house. Getting my foot better means getting my life back, which also means way better content on this blog. So cross your little fingers that I’ll be walking soon!

Lovable Friday!

1. Blu DOT for Target

I’ve always lusted over Blu DOT home furnishings, but it’s always been just out of reach financially. So I was content admiring from afar. You can only imagine my reaction when I saw that they decided to partner up with Target for a more affordable collaboration! I’m pretty sure that is nothing new, and I am late to this game, but I am excited either way. The console featured above is one of my favorite pieces and would fit great in our quirky and fun living room. What’s your fav?

Happy Hump Day: Jamie Dornan

What did I say about Once Upon a Time and their man meat? Jamie Dornan (aka; the huntsman) is no exception. These people know where to find their dudes. Jamie is a former model for Calvin Klein and Dior, and is also a musician (just like his cast mate, Colin). Hot dudes that play instruments? Thank you, universe.

Fun tip; my hubs may love this guy more than me. True story.

What I Wore: Stitch Fix

I love surprises. I think that’s why a service like Stitch Fix was so appealing. You fill out some basic information on their site, get assigned a stylist and you are sent a surprise package based on what you shared/requested. Although they weren’t always spot on, I just recently updated my profile and shared some additional information like my number one style icon (Zooey Deschanel, if you were wondering) and my fashion Pinterest board. I hoped this would help with the selections for my next fix, and it did! This dress was one of 5 great items I received (I’m sure you’ll see the others soon enough), and I fell in love! Although I am rocking a cast, I don’t think it’s an excuse to look a mess. Sure, I may have looked silly hobbling around in this cute little frock but at least I was doing it style. One thing I’m missing? Heels.

So.much.
