Lovable Friday!

1. Glow stick pool; OK guys. How cool is this pool full of bright, shiny glow sticks??? I would have never thought to do this, and I definitely would have never thought it would look this cool! You better believe there will be some funky night swimming in my future!

2. Washi tape party decor; I am a big fan of good looking, but easy party decor so washi tape is high on my list of must-haves for this summer’s party season. Wrap some around a plastic cup and voila! Instant personality! You can beat it.

3. Denim heart DIY; Another fabulous DIY! Patterned jeans are still all the rage for Spring, but the perfect ones can be hard to find. That’s why sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and make your own personally perfect pair! This is another seemingly simple undertaking, but I’ll make sure to report back with my opinion. ;)

4. Lightsaber toothbrushes; I think I’ve found the coolest kid gift ever. Who would think that it would be a toothbrush?!? They are shaped like lightsabers and flash every 60 seconds to promote longer brushing intervals. My husband was super upset that they only come for children. I think there’s a market out there, Star Wars. Just sayin’.

5. Striped wedges; These gorgeous creatures popped up on the streets of Milan fashion week, and unfortunately the link didn’t give me the information I needed. Mainly, where I can get my grubby hands on them. ::sigh:: Oh well, they are probably completely out of reach budget-wise. Right? Right. So that means I shouldn’t obsessively stalk them, right? Right.

ps; liking the new format??

{Adventures in Pinteresting}: Dip Dye Pots

I think this is my first adventures in Pinteresting that is not fashion-related – that’s crazy! Now that my test is over, I finally have time to do something I love ever so much: crafting. It’s my form of therapy (along with wine & gluten free cupcakes, of course), and just generally makes me a happier person. The second I saw this DIY on Pinterest, I knew I had to conquer it. It seemed so simple! Seemed.

Getting those lines nice & straight all around the pots was SO hard. But honestly, now that they house some adorable cacti and succulents, you can’t even notice. They are honestly the perfect statement piece for a coffee table, nightstand or to use as a gift, like mentioned in the original post. And aside from the precise tape wrapping skills needed, it is a pretty easy DIY to tackle on a rainy day while listening to your favorite new album (mine? JT’s The 20/20 Experience).

Happy Hump Day: Ethan Embry

My crush on Ethan Embry in the 90’s was monumental. I’m pretty sure all my thoughts revolved around finding a boy that looked just like him. Spoiler alert: I never did. But, my teenage dream kind of came true about a year ago when we had a back and forth conversation on Twitter. I got entirely too excited – almost like it was like Rex Manning day. ;)

So happy to see him as part of the cast of Once Upon a Time!

What I Wore: Easter Sunday

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend with those you love the most – I know I did! Although it consisted of a lot of work (man, I’ve been swamped lately), I was able to spend an entire day of quality family time, which was much needed. We even schemed some preliminary plans to head on another cousin adventure to Disney – watch out, Mickey Mouse! Don’t say I didn’t warn you….

What I Wore: DC

I’m baaaack! I had a fantastic time on our little vacation to visit our friend, Chris, in Richmond, which was the most adorable little city ever. I loved its vibe, and even more so loved the fact that so many restaurants were celiac friendly. I was in shock! It was a pleasant surprise. Over the weekend, we did a very quick overnight trip to DC, hoping to see some beautiful cherry blossoms and were a bit disappointed. They had not bloomed yet! However, we had the most wonderful time exploring the city instead! Everything works out in the end, huh?

With that said, I braved the elements (it was freeeeezing) to take these outfit post pictures sans coat/scarf. That’s how dedicated I am. ;)

& I’m Off!

Photo via weheartit.com

I’m leaving on a jet plane today to visit one of our bestest friends who moved to Richmond, VA nearly one year ago! We miss him a whole lot and can’t wait to spend time with him in his new city AND visit Washington D.C. just in time for the Cherry Blossom Festival! If you follow me on Instagram, look out for all the pretty pictures that will surely flood my stream.

Until then,

Squeeworthy: Clinique’s Moisture Surge CC Cream

I can’t get enough of Clinique’s new moisture surge CC cream. It’s an instant complexion perfector designed to enhance skin’s natural radiance while leaving it hydrated and protected with SPF 30. I’ve been using it for the past week and it is my new favorite beauty product. Why? Well, my job requires me to drive all around the city of Miami working with children. That means a full face of makeup is just not practical, but at the same time, I want to look presentable. The CC cream helps neutralize my blotchy redness and leaves it more radiant and dewy (without looking greasy).  Plus, it keeps my ridiculously fair skin not only protected, but also healthy due to its antioxidants, such as Vitamin E.

But a picture is worth a thousand words, right? I decided to be fearless and post a picture of myself with a completely bare face right after a shower to illustrate how great the improvement was when I used CC cream;

Amazing, right? If you are as impressed as I am, mark your calendars ladies! This new product launches next month in April.

Melificent disclosure: Company provided me with the product in return for review above. However, all opinions are my own.

Lauren Shane for Vaunte

Vaunte is a great site where you can shop celebrity, stylists and celebrity stylists’ closets for a fraction of the original price. They just recently started a particularly amazing sale featuring Lauren Shane, a celebrity stylist and style blogger. Lauren started out as a PR assistant turned stylist at Diane Von Furstenberg, followed by a stint at E! as Giuliana Rancic’s wardrobe stylist. Yep, those are some chops.

And this is some closet. Which items would I snatch up?

1. State Stamp

I love sending snail mail, especially when it is adorned with special stickers and stamps. Receiving a package in the mail jumps up 10,000 more points when it is pretty to look at, so I am loving all over these state address stamps. And before you scoff at the asking price, know that they are each hand-lettered. Delicious.
