My hubs introduced me to the greatness that is A Bryan Photo. They are lifestyle and wedding photographers that shoot soley in film for photos and super-8 for video. And they are glorious. Check out their blog for great photos, such as this Star Wars themed wedding (way classier and fun than expected) as well as their Vimeo channel for amazing videos such as this one.
Now that I’ve rounded up my birthday girl outfits for this month’s Comic-Con, I decided I’d play a little show and tell with you all! That and people have requested to see them and who am I to deny you lovely people? Now, I realize that it looks like I have some sort of strange antlers growing out of my head, but I assure you it belongs to my cardboard buck.
I’d really appreciate some help from you all with this one. I’m pretty sure this is the winner for my official birthday party (note amazing princess tiara & shoulder details), but I’m concerned that it is a little on the short side, especially since the back is exposed (not pictured). So my question to you all is, should I brave the streets of the Gaslamp District with the itty bitty number or should I pair it with my favorite jean leggings? Advice needed!
I absolutely love this dress! I found it at Loehmann’s this week and haven’t stopped obsessing over it since! It’s the runner up for my birthday dress if I am feeling a little more demure and less sex kitten. It’s so perfectly form fitting without being too suggestive and is made of the most delicious sweatshirt material.
So there you have it! My outfits for our nights on the town in San Diego! Hopefully I’ll look a little cuter the next time I wear them since I’ll actually make an effort to do my hair, accessorize and slap some makeup on
I have to say. I made fun of my friend, Elissa, endlessly for having a crush on High School Musical star, Zac Efron. And then he grew up and decided to look like this. I’m not laughing so hard anymore. Seriously, when did this kid get so ridiculously good looking? Plus, his body is out of control. Between being on Team Lautner and now Zac, I’m turning into a regular cougar. Rawr, baby.
HAPPY JULY!!!!!
It’s finally my favorite month! Not only is it my birthday month, but it also houses quite a few fun events including our housewarming, Eclipse celebration with the girls, the Smashing Pumpkins concert and Comic-Con. That’s right, it’s time for Comic-Con again and I figured since I am now a seasoned pro (::chuckle::), I would impart some of my knowledge with you all.
1. Pack some food.
If you are attending Comic-Con for the panels (as I do), then prepare to wait in ridiculously long lines. And prepare to not have much time to eat, as that would mean you would have to get out of line and enter yet another ridiculously long line just to eat a pretty disgusting hot dog or sandwich that costs you $57. Go the cheap (& smart) route: brown bag it! Hit up the local supermarket on your way in to San Diego and load up on bread, peanut butter and jelly as well as a hefty amount of snack bars. That way, whenever your tummy wants to be satisfied, you just have to reach inside your bag and/or purse and voila! Problem solved. Plus, this also helps you save some money so you can shop on the Convention floor or in my case, drink more at local bars.
2. Keep your eyes peeled.
I know Comic-Con is this massive event that is littered with celebrity guests, but a lot of the time, these celebrities want to jump in on the fun and roam around the Convention floor, attend panels and bar hop in the Gaslamp District. You never know who may be sitting next to you, walking past you or having a drink across the way. Just last year, Deborah Ann Woll, who plays baby vamp, Jessica, on True Blood, was sitting behind us at the Coraline Panel. And later that day, we walked past another True Blood cast member, Mike McMillian, on the street outside the Convention Center. Milo Ventimiglia also was spotted crossing the street and interacting with fans whom he saw sporting Heroes tattoos that were being offered for free at their carnival. It is also rumored that a lot of big named celebrities like to walk the Convention floor wearing costumes or masks in order to be able to check out all the fun undisturbed. So keep those eyes peeled! You never know who you will bump into!
3. Want an autograph? Research!
I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten excited as I passed by an autograph booth for either an artist or actor I admired and was promptly turned away because I did not have “a ticket.” Autograph signings are announced on the Comic-Con site, but make sure to read the fine print! You must usually stand in line at a specific date and time in order to receive a ticket that allows you to attend these signings. You cannot just walk up to the table at the time of signing and get an autograph. Very frustrating as they usually conflict with panels, which you also have to wait in line for. It all comes down to what you value more and sometimes, the information is not readily available. Make sure to check fan sites if the details are not clear on the Comic-Con site as to where you can pick up your tickets.
Many of you ladies have made the request that I feature Zachary Levi on my hump day posts, so here you go! Although I have never watched an episode of Chuck in my life, I have noticed that it has a pretty massive cult following. So massive that it’s fan base has managed to bring it back from the dead. That’s right, Chuck was on the NBC chopping block before fans stepped up and created the Save Chuck campaign. Because of the dedication of hardcore fans, Chuck saw a season 3 and has just been renewed for a 4th season. So this is for you, Chuck fans, I hope you enjoy!
Do not mock the photo above. These are just things you do when you are a Twi-hard, along with attending Twilight Night. Twilight Night was a 12-city promotional event hosted by Summit Entertainment on June 26th to get everyone excited and ready for the release of Twilight’s third (& best in my opinion) installment, Eclipse.
Yep, that’s about the way I feel right now. What I thought was some sort of heat exhaustion over the weekend has turned into this nasty flu-like sickness. High fever, body aches, headache. You get the picture. So I’ll be taking a little break today to try to recuperate. Hopefully I’ll start feeling a little better by tomorrow and be back as usual.
Today there is only one Lovable Friday item and that is because something absolutely magical happened yesterday afternoon. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you are in the know, but for the remaining 2 people who do not, here’s the deal:
Bush is getting back together. Remember I posted about it here? Well, Epicenter Fest, the music festival hosting their first performance together since 2002, has been randomly giving away passes to the show (regular and VIP) through their own Twitter and Facebook accounts. I’ve obviously been entering, hoping to win so I can actually afford to go.
And yesterday afternoon…I won. I flipping won.
I’m going to see Bush LIVE (in SoCal no less). I am in complete and utter shock. And since it was a pair of tickets, I invited one of my closest friends and Bush partner in crime since 1999, Bonnie. We are absolutely thrilled for the trip – I’ve always wanted to travel to see a band with girlfriends and here I am! I say girlfriends because not only am I going to share this experience with Bonnie, but also with about 19 other hardcore Bush/Gavin Rossdale fans that I have become friends with over the past year on Twitter and Facebook. We refer to ourselves as GRoupies (cute, right?) and are making the trek from all over the U.S. for this show.
All in all, it’s going to be one hell of good time.
Can life get any better? I don’t think so.
I love my life.
In the words of Jason Stackhouse:
Thank you God, Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Allah, Confusion, Buddha, Scientology, Aliens and the lion from Narnia!
Yes, he is legal. And quite possibly my favorite ginger right along with the Phelps twins. Ron was always one of my favorites while reading the Harry Potter series (along with Luna & Lupin) and while watching the first couple of movies, I could not help but think that Rupert was just the sweetest little boy ever, was he not? I always said he was going to grow up and be quite the stunner and sure enough, he definitely did! With the Potter movies wrapping up, Rupert has attempted to shed his squeaky clean Weasley image with roles in movies such as Cherrybomb and the upcoming Wild Target. But it doesn’t matter what he decides to do post-Potter, Weasley will always be my king <3
When thinking of the moment I would finally experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I don’t think I could have possibly conjured up a better day than what really occurred on June 18th, 2010. This will be a long and detailed review of not only my personal experiences that day, but also of the park in general as well as attractions and shops. If for some reason you feel as if this will ruin your own eventual experience of the Wizarding World, please do not continue reading.
