I was able to rest up enough to doll myself up for my cousin’s wedding on Saturday night. I wanted to make sure I didn’t look as terrible as I felt, so I got my trusty hairdresser to make me look pretty. I wanted a simple updo, but I’m pretty sure she doesn’t know how to do it if it isn’t fierce. So I got myself a pretty rockin’ do to go along with my awesome dress (it had pockets!). Thankfully, I started feeling better as the day progressed and by the time the wedding rolled around, no one could tell that I had been on my death bed for several days. Ten points for Meli! The wedding was gorgeous and my cousin made a beautiful bride. The reception was at the Epic Hotel, which totally lives up to its name. Her cocktail hour took place on the pool level, which boasted a stunning view of Downtown Miami. But my favorite part of the wedding? The photobooth sitting outside of the reception!!! I am completely obsessed with photobooths so having one I can play with for free made me feel like a little kid in a candy shop! The hubs and I were even brainstorming on how to make our own! How bad ass would it be to have one in our home?? Amazing, me thinks.
Lovable Friday

I pretty much love vintage anything, so when I stumbled upon these engagement photos on the lovely Jeune Marie blog, I nearly exploded! How flipping cute are these??? It definitely makes me wonder why I didn’t think of this idea for our own engagement pictures – rats! [Read more…]
Infected.

Well, I guess the stress I had been feeling the past few days really took it’s toll on me because my body has decided to welcome the month of October with complete misery! I have some pretty intense body aches, a phlegm-y cough, a headache and a fever. Doesn’t that sound like fun? Seriously though, I really hope it’s not the flu – or worse, H1N1. ![]()
So, naturally, I’m not feeling up to blogging but I’ll be back tomorrow with a lovable Friday list – promise!
Happy Hump Day: Matthew Morrison

Today is hump day, yes. But for the past few weeks, Wednesdays have meant something else for the majority of the U.S.: it’s Glee day!!! What I find to be one of the best new shows (if not the best) of the Fall has taken America by storm. After being lucky enough to attend the Glee panel at Comic-Con, I can honestly say that I don’t think any of the cast or crew thought this show would be as huge as it has become. But you really can’t go wrong with a batch of such talented (and good looking) people. Matthew Morrison would definitely be grouped in that category! He plays Will, the new Glee club teacher, that is struggling with not only his job stability but also with his marriage to a complete and total fruit loop.
If you don’t watch the show, I highly recommend it. If my word isn’t enough for you, check out their killer rendition of Don’t Stop Believin’. I’m pretty much you’ll be sold.
Enjoy the spam, ladies!
F21 is my hero
Everyone has their good days and their bad days.
I’ve had a succession of bad ones lately. I feel like I need some sort of change in scenery. Unfortunately, I cannot elaborate on this topic on the blog, but suffice it to say that I wish I could blog for a living. Thankfully, I have a rock ‘n roll road trip next week and Forever 21 to keep my mind entertained.

Fab Abstract Printed Skirt – $9.50
There’s nothing like a fun skirt to make going to work a little brighter. This abstract printed skirt is definitely one of those. I could see myself pairing it with a white (preferably ruffly) high neck top.

Knit High Waist Skirt - $9.50
Although I can’t say I am a fan of the show, Mad Men (the characters can’t get any more despicable to me), I love their wardrobe! This high waisted skirt gives you that lovely sexy 60’s secretary look, plus would look great paired with almost anything and worn to anything. My pick? Date night with the Mister, of course.

Zipper Rosette Top – $17.80
I’m always excited when I can dress up a tank and jeans and this cute top is a perfect example! Slap on some skinny jeans and a pair of high heels and you are ready to rock the town.

Satin Ensemble Dress – $24.80
How adorable is this little dress? I immediately thought it was the perfect daytime event dress: bridal shower, brunch date, picnic or even just to walk around South Beach hand in hand with your love or furry friends. I kind of think it is all kinds of wonderful.
Buckled Ankle Boot – $26.80
Yum, boots! I’m a huge fan of boots but unfortunately often cannot rock them because of my pesky thick legs. How did someone so petite get cursed blessed with such large legs? It’s beyond me. Anywho, these low slung boots still give that hot fall fashion look without the height (and pain). Sign me up!
Sequined Crochet Beret – $10.80
I’m one of those people that love hats. Big, little, bright, subdued. I love them all. This sequined crochet beret definitely screams Melificent with the perfect amount of glitter & glam while still being subdued and laid back. Now if I could only master the art of laying it on my head in that cool & nonchalant way…
Weekend Highlights

This past Saturday was a great one!!! A group of our friends met for dinner at Trattoria Sole, my father-in-law’s Italian restaurant in South Miami. Sole is like our home away from home, so it’s great on its own but made even better when we can share it with awesome people like we did on Saturday night. We exchanged crazy stories, laughed and ate like monsters. Then we headed across the street to Splitsville in Sunset Place to do some late night bowling. I had never been to Splitsville before and it is a blast!!! They have some great drink specials, play kick ass tunes and provides a killer atmosphere. I am now a definite fan. Plus, I got to bowl, which I hadn’t done in a long time and surprised myself by not embarrassing myself too badly. We closed the night with an uber late night run to Denny’s where I’m pretty sure our waitress wanted us dead. By the time we got home, it was about 5:30am! Sunday morning afternoon made both the hubs and I realize that we are getting old. It took us an entire day to recover! Oh to be 21 again!
Hope you all have a great week!

Are you laughing, biyatch?
No time to put together a Lovable List for today, so I leave you with this hysterical video.
I hope this video helps you get in touch with your ghetto side, just in time for the weekend!
Have a great one, kids!

Some of my favorite things
Back for another edition of some of my favorite things.
As some of you can tell, I haven’t been having one of the best weeks, so it’s always nice to look at pretty & desirable items to decrease those feelings of mass murder. At least, it works for me.
So I received the latest CB2 catalog and am going to run down some of my fav’s. Some issues are not all that impressive, but this time around called for me to whip out the permanent marker and go crazy with the circling. You’ve been warned!
Engineer Dining Table – $399
I love the raw look of this table and think it would look amazing as a dining room table in a really modern space. And that price! Diggin’ it!
Cityscape Shower Curtain – $39.99
I’m always on the lookout for a new hip shower curtain and this one is lovely. Unfortunately, our CBGB curtain is on its last legs and I think this one with its bright yellow elements would look great in our mainly grey bathroom.
Desktop Chalkboard – $14.95
Being a fan of chalkboard-anything, I think this is an adorable idea. Maybe not for the office-office, but definitely a cute statement for a home office.
Happy Hump Day: Jason Schwartzman

Having a pretty irritating night as I write this up, so excuse if I am not as bubbly as usual. Jason has been a favorite of mine since Rushmore and it was basically solidified after I Heart Huckabees. He the ultimate “cool yet nerdy kid.” I absolutely loved him and Zooey Deschanel together. It basically broke my heart when they separated and then was stomped on yet again when he became engaged and married to clothing designer, Brady Cunningham, last month. He’s probably best known as Wes Anderson’s golden child: appearing in the majority (if not all?) of his movies and for that infamous line from Rushmore: “These are OR scrubs. O R they?” Jason is now the star of HBO’s new series, Bored to Death, which premiered this past Sunday and I found to be completely hysterical. Also, he has his own band, Coconut Records, which I find to be amazing. Basically, he is the perfect man for all those indie hipsters out there (and me). Enjoy the spam, ladies!
We Could Be Heroes…

…Just for one day night!
Sorry for the super duper late post everyone, but last night we hosted a viewing party for the season 4 premiere of Heroes! Although a few fans couldn’t make it at the last minute, we still had a good time. However, I must say that it was quite the challenge to watch a 2-hour season premiere with people that had never watched the show before, but they were troopers and dealt with my yelling and grumbling under my breath. ![]()
Our awesome friend, Roxy, made these kick ass brain cupcakes in honor of our favorite character, Sylar (of course). They were absolutely scrumptious but I have to admit that as I put the brain (actually a mold using candy) portion in my mouth, I may have gagged a little. The coolest part about these cupcakes is that I tweeted about them this morning, and Ms. Wendi Lynn herself re-tweeted me with a message from a little guy you may know:

Uhhhh, awesome sauce. Have I mentioned how much I adore Twitter? Because I do. Just sayin’.
Anywho, as if these cupcakes weren’t enough, we also put together some pretty tasty Chicken & Waffles dishes, which ties in to the show as being Hiro’s favorite childhood meal. We definitely got no complaints on that front – the plates basically disappeared in a puff of smoke (super powers?). I also provided super hero masks to the girls (boys refused), which we found to be pretty debilitating in regards to drinking beer effectively and, you know…seeing. So those were short-lived.
So on to the stuff I know you really care about: the show. Do not read on if you do not want to be spoiled.
