Did any of you participate in the super fun February photo a day on Instagram?
I had a great time compiling photos for all the 28 29 days and thought I would share them with all of you! For those of you that didn’t get a chance to play, there is one for March! Jump on it!

I am totally loving the fun polkie revolution taking place all across design. After all, who can deny a good polka dot? I know I can’t. One for not taking glassware/tableware very seriously (we never registered for china – wtf for, man?!), I am totally lusting after these beauties. I think it would be absolutely impossible not to smile while drinking from them, even though I’m pretty sure I would just place them on my kitchen counter and admire them from afar. File this one under possibly too cute to use!
Ready to spruce up your wardrobe for upcoming Spring? Thanks to the lovely people at The Limited, you can with a $100 gift card! Entering is easy: follow Melificent on Facebook (link here) & comment to this post with what you have been eagerly awaiting to add to your wardrobe. For me, it’s definitely more bangles and general wrist candy. This picture inspired the lust! The winner will be announced next Thursday, 3/8!
After visiting The Limited last week, I was impressed with the versatility of their collections. Some of my favorites were, of course, their beautiful pop pieces (like the skirt I featured earlier this week), as well as their travel suits that can be thrown into the washer and dryer (heaven sent). Finally, I really adored their reboot of the Outback Red collection (last available in the 80’s), which focuses on those of us bitten by the wanderlust bug. It recently features trends inspired by travel to Havana, Cuba, which I love!
In other words, I don’t think any of you will have a very difficult time spending this great gift card.
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.
Enjoy pictures from my visit to The Limited grand opening under the cut!
Everyone got to know Scott Speedman on a little show called Felicity back in the late 90’s, but I was never one of them. I guess I was just too cool for J.J. Abrams back then (blasphemer). The first time I laid eyes on Mr. Speedman was in the Underworld films, where he plays Michael Corvin, one hot piece of werewolf. So beyond gorgeous photos like the ones I feature below came as no surprise to me – apparently those Felicity fans don’t remember him being quite so hunky. Just proves my theory that men only get better with age (too bad the same cannot be said of us – sigh).
We are always searching for perfection, aren’t we? The perfect cup of tea, the perfect man, the perfect moment, and of course, the perfect shirt. When Conversation Pieces began singing the praises of their supposed perfect shirt, I naturally was a bit skeptical. Perfect? Really? What makes it so?
I quickly found out: super soft fabric, adjustable sleeves, basic colors and versatility. You can tuck it in for a business casual look at the office or a date night or leave it out to pair with your favorite pair of skinnies and high heels. I decided better than to just gush about it, I’d show you myself! I put together 2 outfits (of the many I’m sure I could throw together with this shirt) that reflected two different looks: (1) a fancy date night & (2) a fun girls night out.
Date Night!

x.The Voice blind auditions make my Mondays so much better. Anyone else addicted? x. Scored all 20 movie tickets to The Hunger Games opening weekend! x. Speaking of The Hunger Games, some of the cast members are doing a mall tour & they are coming here! I’ll be there, will you? x. Attending a fun blogger event at The Limited (more later this week). x. Lunch (complete with yummy margaritas) with a friend. x. Getting started on house projects – my closet came first! x. Nicaraguan food and Netflix movies from the comfort of our couch. x. Finally displaying our wedding album after nearly 5 years of marriage! x. Hunger Games party crafting with the bestie – really doesn’t get any better! x. Oscar trash talking – sorry no best/worst dressed list this year from me!
I have to say I am really loving all the decorative arrow elements I’m seeing all around Pinterest and Etsy! They are all very Katniss Everdeen – makes you wonder if the trend started just to spur more Hunger Games hype, right? But seriously, how cute would these mini pastel arrows look on a mantel or console table (you know I’m thinking about mine). Get some here!
After our Disney photo-taking extravaganza, we took it easy the following day and just strolled around Downtown Disney and had a few drinks at a nearby brewery. I was so happy to see so many restaurants offering gluten free options (favorite definitely being the GF fish & chips at Raglan Road Pub) – going out to eat is usually a huge struggle for me (honestly, I’ve been avoiding it lately), but it was made so easy on this trip. You really got to give it to Disney for trying to make it a pleasurable experience for all their guests.
Something else I love about Disney? You can dress a little wilder than usual and not get many side glances. Although you may be thinking my outfit isn’t that cray, I assure you it is for typical Miami folk. I always feel like I have to reign in my style (dumb it down so to speak) on days where I just don’t feel like getting those strange looks from people on the street. But not here. Oh no, Disney encourages you to hoist your freak flag and I love it. This outfit was paired with my Mickey ears earlier, but due to some serious gusts of wind, I had to take it off and tuck it in the safety of my purse. I really wish I would have gotten some shots with them on though – I was channeling a modern Minnie Mouse.
My closet desperately needed a Spring, Winter, Fall, and Summer cleaning so I went ahead and did so yesterday. While I was making my pile, I realized a lot of the victims had never even been worn once! I didn’t think it was right to just toss them aside without offering them a new home first where they could at least see the light of day. So I decided to offer them to all of you, lovely readers! If no one is interested, then up on Ebay they will go, but you all get first dibs!
If you want to snag a piece, leave me a comment saying so and it will be yours. First come, first serve! Just as an aside, these all come from a smoke-free home and at max, have been worn once.
Happy shopping!
This Marc Jacobs dress is actually a size 2, totally my error.
