Happy Hump Day: Gabriel Macht

Well lookie here, this week’s hottie didn’t even need a badge!
He already came with one!

This week I decided to leave the hump day hottie up to my readers, and my – did they ever vote! Many men were thrown into the mix, but Gabriel Macht seemed to win over the majority. I won’t lie, I’ve never seen Suits, and I don’t know much about Gabriel, but what I do know is he has some amazing hair and he can apparently make the majority of you turn into screaming little fangirls. Also, after a quick wiki search, I discovered he is married to Jacinda Barrett! Remember her? She was in The Real World: London. You know, the season where the dude’s tongue gets bitten off? Sweet.

I Call Her Red

{yeah, that’s a Jordan Catalano reference…}

I was finally able to fix my crazy dye job last week and the results are amazing!
So lucky to have been able to find such a kick ass stylist at Peter of London that understands my crazy wants and needs (I’m not the easiest client when it comes to hair).

My hair was about 3 different shades making it kind of embarassing to wear it down (even with my amazing new haircut), so that would be why you always saw it up in my attempt of a top knot bun. Now, I haven’t thrown it up since getting it done! Oh, red. I’ve missed you so.

What’s your favorite hair color?

Lovable Friday!

1. Glitter Loafers

Loafers are the new it item on every fashion blogger’s list, but pair them with glitter and my heart melts. I mean, possibly to the same extent Kristen Bell‘s did when she had a sloth come to her birthday party. I’m serious. And you want to really elicit a meltdown? I can no longer find them on the Dolce Vita site. NOOOOOOOoooooo!

What I Wore: The Kills Concert

The Kills is one of my hubby’s favorite bands…and mine. For his birthday present, I got him tickets to see them in Paris last year during our Europe trip and they blew.us.away. So naturally when we found out they were going to play in South Florida, we had to get tickets once again. Holy hell. Why are they so amazing? Add front row status, and we almost couldn’t handle it. Alison Mosshart is electric, hot, and magnetic (Jamie, you are not far behind, my friend).

Which leads me into why these photos may be a little…well, awkward looking. They were taken outside the venue a couple of hours before doors opened and Alison was literally down the street. I just could not concentrate on my best “fashion blogger stance/face/pose” because the level of cool in the air was raised an infinite amount of notches and I just could not compete. So ridiculous giggles and weird contorted faces resulted instead. Sorry for that.

Happy Hump Day: Brad Pitt

The first day of February! What a lovely day for my first official Hump Day in weeks (thanks to the lovely Roxy of GrrFeisty for taking over during my hiatus). I’m sure a lot of you are gearing up for the romantic holiday with your loves (we have absolutely nothing planned yet – yipes!), and maybe a cute little hottie will help get those creative juices flowing (that sounded really dirty).

I was pretty shocked when I noticed I hadn’t done Brad Pitt yet on the blog! Well, aside from my adorable pup (who I believe to be more handsome, of course). Sure, he’s old news, but Brad Pitt has managed to stand the test of time. He may not be the hottest heartthrob anymore, but he has grown into one of the heaviest hitters in Hollywood and seems like a genuinely cool dude.

It’s Over.

via; Pinterest

It’s over. Done. Finished.
I took my exam this morning, and whatever the results may be (I don’t find out for a couple of months), what’s important to me right now is that it is OVER. I can check it off and attempt to push it out of my mind for at least 6 more weeks and come back to the life of the living. I’ve missed sunshine, friends, DIY projects & the blog!

Melificent is back y’all.

Radio Silence

via; Tumblr

It begins today, leading straight through my exam.
I don’t usually ask for well wishes & that mumbo jumbo unless it’s serious.
& well…this is pretty serious.

I accept any kind of prayers, good vibes, lucky spells, etc. you are all willing to give.
Good news is that Melificent will be back up and running mid-next week!

…Til then.

{Trend Swap}: NEON PARTNERS

It’s that time, lovelies!
Unfortunately, we had an odd number of participants, so I had to cancel myself out of the equation to match up everyone else. I won’t be participating in this swap, but hope to be able to the next time around when The Fashionable ESQ hosts!

Thanks to everyone that did show interest – I hope the more we do these, the more bloggers will want to participate. I really think it’s a fun way for all of us to bond and create relationships with each other. Plus, who doesn’t like gifts?

I decided to match everyone up the old fashion way by putting your names in a hat and drawing them randomly (yes, this is how I have fun when the hubs is away on business trips)! And here are the results;

Kristi < Net

Terri < Roxy

If you want to freshen up on the requirements, here’s the original blog post! & please don’t forget to share your posts with me – I can’t wait to see what everyone receives and how you will all style it!

Perspective

With all the stress of my exam, as well as additional (& unnecessary I may add) stressors bleeding into my day-to-day, my mood and judgement have been foggy. It’s been very easy to get caught up in the madness (mainly brought on by overthinking and catastrophizing in my case), and forget to stop and smell the roses. Sure, I did what many people would not. I decided to start from scratch, and I knew that would entail many a sacrifice, but my mental health has in many ways thanked me for it. I am happy. I love what I do. And I am making a difference. I can’t tell you how many amazing moments I have experienced in the last year while on the job – some even moving me to tears. How many people can say that about their job? I’m lucky.
