Magical Moments Monday

First off, today is especially magical because it is my hubs’ birthday! He has proved to be my rock as well as my happy place this year – I’m pretty sure I’d be lost without him. Plus, I am especially proud of him for the extreme growth he has displayed – he inspires me every day with his creativity and drive. I love you, monkey. Always & forever.

As far as the rest of the magic, here goes:

x. getting trip goodies in the mail
x. making some great connections
x. new books to read
x. have I mentioned our vacation is only ONE WEEK AWAY???
x. new favorite Essie shade: jazz
x. perfecting my Katniss Everdeen costume
x. I’m a redhead again!
x. still drives me wild that one of my favorite bands loves me back.
x. driving with the windows down
x. sunshine: something we had not seen in about a week!
x. spending much needed time with family
x. walking around South Beach on a gorgeous day
x. the Once Upon A Time pilot – in Damon Lindelof I trust

Lovable Friday!

1. Glitter animals

Figures this lovely image came straight from Kate Spade’s Holiday shoot – why is all her stuff so perfectly fun and chic? I almost can’t stand it. Despite how gorgeous and glittery the model’s dress is, my eyes went directly to the matching sparkly penguins! How fun would these look, not only as cake toppers, but as fun centerpieces or card holders for a festive holiday cocktail party or dinner? I’m definitely going to scribble this one down as a must-do holiday project. Best part is, you can just head over to Target, and pick up some small animal figures, loose glitter and some sort of adhesive, and be ready to go! Perfect!

Happy Hump Day: Henry Cavill (Part II)

I always vowed never to do a repeat hump day, but honestly, I could not help myself. British hottie, Henry Cavill, is just too beautiful for words. And I am constantly being pummeled by the most gorgeous pictures of him now that he is starring in The Immortals (directed by Tarsem, so you know it will be the most visually stunning movie ever) and as The Man of Steel himself. So I figured no one would complain if he was featured on the blog again, right? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Fun fact: did you know that his nickname growing up was Fat Cavill? Pretty hard to believe now, huh?

Magical Moments Monday

I hope you all had a great weekend! Despite all the rain and gloom in our neck of the woods, we had a really action-packed one! Here are some of the moments that made it, and the rest of last week, so special;

x. receiving an invite to a blogger event
x. playing sloshball with good friends
x. karaoking to No Doubt
x. surprise visit by friends that led to talking for hours over fruity drinks
x. creating a new playlist on Spotify, Powerful
x. putting together my application to sit for certification – big deal
x. lunch date with old coworkers/friends
x. getting a package from Romwe with adorable accessories
x. finding the perfect affordable foundation (Revlon’s ColorStay if interested)
x. starting to pack for Europe (now 2 weeks away!!)
x. Zachary Quinto finally came out

Lots of shopping to do this week – picking up final little items for our trip, as well as Halloween costumes! I love October!

Lovable Friday!

1. Harajuku for Target

I love all things Gwen Stefani (I kind of want to be her when I grow up), so naturally I’m a big fan of all her fashion lines. You can imagine how excited I got when I found out she was not only making a more budget kiddie line, but that it would be exclusively sold at Target stores! Sure, I don’t have any children just yet, but it’s not too early to start collecting swag, right? OK, so that might be a little crazy, but this girl right here does not care. I just may try to squeeze into that perfect little tutu skirt! {God help me if I have a daughter.} Let’s just hope it doesn’t result in another Missoni debacle.

Happy Hump Day: Shia LaBeouf

Sure, sure. I can be a cougar at times – what of it?? Although at times I would watch Even Stevens (my friend’s little sister really loved the show), it wasn’t until Transformers that I really noticed how adorable Shia LaBeouf was – and how talented. Sure, he’s basically a somewhat self-contained trainwreck now, but at the time, he was just the best thing since sliced bread. I don’t think I have to say that aside from amazing CGI work, he carried that movie with his perfect comedic timing and charm (too bad the same cannot be said about the other two). I just wish he would clean up the ridiculous antics and mildly creepy facial hair, because I’m pretty sure he could rework his image and be that charming kid again. Until then, enjoy the hump!

ps; like my new hump day hottie badge? I had to give the boys some kind of honor!

Magical Moments Monday

So while I was driving last week, this huge and ridiculous smile spread across my face. Why? It was an absolutely gorgeous day, I was listening to one of my favorite bands on the radio and there was little to no traffic on the expressway. I got to thinking that the most simple things in life often go overlooked. However, oftentimes these overlooked moments are what makes life so magical. We tend to focus on the negative…well, maybe I should rephrase that. I tend to focus on the negative. I like to think that I am a pretty cheerful person, but I sometimes let myself get too overwhelmed with the seemingly bad or stressful. I won’t lie, this year has been a difficult one, but in the grand scheme of things: I am such a lucky girl.

Lovable Friday

1. Initial ring

I really love nameplates and initials on jewelry. I like the personalization and the simplicity. Believe it or not, despite my loud wardrobe, I prefer simple jewelry. These initial rings by Laladesignstudio on Etsy scream understated perfection. And it seems I’m not the only one that felt that way, due to overwhelming demand, she had to close her shop to catch up on orders. No worries though, you can ask to be notified when the shop is ready to be opened once more!

Sprightly: ShoeDazzle Review

I know I had already done a review for the ShoeDazzle service back when I received my first pair, but since I’ve been a member on the site for several months now, I thought my opinion would be more valuable this time around. I have to say that I have been pretty happy with the site. The older I get, the less time I want to spend in malls dealing with large quantities of frustrating people, so the fact that I can order a new pair of affordable and adorable shoes with just one click is so appealing. Plus, I was able to make some adjustments to my showroom and now am receiving way more fun selections, which was one of my main gripes.

Happy Hump Day: Daniel Craig

You ladies really love Daniel Craig. I don’t think much of him, but figured I would throw out a freebie for you all. After all, I like doing that from time to time. ;) Sure, the man has a ridiculous body that looks beyond fantastic in clothes (specifically in this poster for Cowboys and Aliens), but I just can’t give his face the time of day. Butter face, I believe is the term. However, he really is a great actor and definitely tends to pick some pretty stellar roles. Most recently, he will be seen in David Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo based off the bestselling book trilogy (all the best movies are based off books lately, huh?). I have not read this series yet (maybe some good airplane material for my upcoming vacation), but I did watch the trailer and it looks all sorts of magnificent. Fincher is one of my favorite directors, and his style is pretty close to impeccable so I have pretty high expectations.
